Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to explore an important management aspect of business relationship dynamics, namely, the reactivation process of previously ended buyer–supplier relationships.
Design/methodology/approach
A processual case study approach focusing on a single in-depth case has been used. The case is based on longitudinal data from a number of sources concerning one reactivation failure.
Findings
Grounded in previous research and based on this study’s case findings, the authors have designed a model of analysis for relationship reactivation processes. Using the model on this study’s particular case, the authors show how the structural properties of network embeddedness and resource ties worked in favor of the process, whereas the social bonds and the lack of them led to mistrust that disturbed the negotiation and, hence, worked against the reactivation process.
Originality/value
This study makes a contribution to the field of relationship dynamics by exploring relationship reactivation processes. The designed model shows how reactivation can be understood as an interplay between structural properties and (re)building activities and contributes new knowledge on factors that affect this process.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to focus on diversification between electrical parameters determined on the basis of instantaneous impedance measurements within the activation and reactivation scan of dissolution of sensitized AISI 304 stainless steel during a proceeding intergranular corrosion process.
Design/methodology/approach
The investigations were carried out by means of dynamic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (DEIS). DEIS measurements were conducted “on‐line” while the samples were polarized in agreement with a measurement procedure presented in the ASTM G108‐94 standard, in order to guarantee conditions equivalent with the DL‐EPR tests performed on AISI 304 stainless steel.
Findings
Performed researches revealed the advantages of the DEIS technique over standard double‐loop electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation (DL‐EPR) tests in the field of intergranular corrosion investigations. Application of the DEIS technique made it possible to trace instantaneous changes in the examined system's impedance versus potential during the intergranular corrosion process. The form of recorded DEIS spectra and obtained distribution of measurement frequencies within the reactivation potential range were equivalent to those obtained for pure iron dissolution in sulfuric acid medium. As a result, instantaneous changes of electrical double layer capacitance and charge transfer resistance as a function of potential have been obtained in the range of activation and reactivation scans.
Originality/value
The paper provides information regarding diversification between the electrical double layer capacitance and the charge transfer resistance determined for sensitized AISI 304 stainless steel with respect to polarization conditions during the standard DL‐EPR test, which were obtained in order to evaluate the susceptibility to intergranular corrosion.

Abstract
This chapter presents a methodological and strategic proposal for the application of the design thinking methodology to support the implementation of the work and action plan for the economic reactivation of start-ups in Mexico. The objective is to create a quick reference guide to accelerate start-up resilience. Documentary research is considered on the guidelines and implementation requirements, as well as the measures established by the Mexican Ministry of Health, to mitigate the epidemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes the COVID-19 disease and to carry out an orderly, gradual, and cautious reopening in order to continue caring for people’s health in the working environment and at the same time reactivate the start-ups’ economy. This chapter provides an alternative guide to direct and propose a structured option for the labour and economic reactivation of start-ups that were considered non-core and that require the completion of regulatory procedures and processes required to obtain the necessary Quick Response code, granted by the entities that regulate the guidelines for the safe reopening of companies. Based on the size of these economic entities, it is considered that they can have between 1 and 10 employees, or no hired personnel at all, which is not considered a priority in the current economic reactivation programmes. A methodological strategy is proposed and implemented to support companies of this size in their immediate process of labour and economic reactivation for a case study of a service company that applied the proposed methodology.

Abstract
Investigates the influence of ceramics heat insulating paste on the degree of sensitization of AISI 304 stainless steel using double‐loop electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation technique. Steel samples with and without protection by ceramics heat insulating paste were heat treated at 700°C for 15, 30 and 60 minutes. Double‐loop electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation (DL‐EPR) tests were conducted for the as‐received and heat‐treated samples in 0.5M H2SO4 + 0.01M KSCN solutions. Measurements of the ratios of the reactivation current to the anodic current indicated that the ceramics heat insulating paste effectively prevented sensitization of the steel for the first 15 minutes at 700°C and reduced the degree of sensitization for samples heat treated for 30 and 60 minutes. Concludes that the decreased degree of protection by the ceramics heat insulating paste was due to the dehydration and subsequent cracking of the paste.

Abstract
Purpose
Although research of entrepreneurial ecosystems has mainly focused on urban centers in developed nations, there is an emergent need to study the complexities of rural, regional and development contexts. Ecosystems in such settings are often characterized by the heightened importance assumed by environmental and social factors. This paper aims to document learning from participatory development and economic planning in the Galapagos, a setting in which the interplay between social, economic and ecological factors is critical.
Design/methodology/approach
This case study seeks to elaborate theory with qualitative data from an empirical context.
Findings
Reconstructed theory shows that in participatory development contexts, the entrepreneurial ecosystem constitutes a space in which competing interests contrast and conflict. Results from the Galapagos islands highlight the ability of local actors to successfully affect policy during local collaborative planning. The tensions between the economy, environment and society apparent in participatory dialogue indicate that a more nuanced approach to the interaction within entrepreneurial ecosystems is required.
Originality/value
This case study demonstrates the value of analyzing the processes and mechanisms for collaboration in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in sustainable development contexts. Results suggest implications for scholars researching entrepreneurial ecosystem networks.

Abstract
A great deal of economic knowledge comes in the form of statistics, tables, graphs, and reports. In government, such materials often abound and point policymakers into different directions. Nonetheless, some materials evidently are more effective than others. Why is that? This chapter examines how high-level administrators reconfigure an institutional setup, so that it produces effective economic materials. A range of other supply-side strategies are discussed, too. The chapter takes a historical approach and focuses on actual practices. It examines activities and materials by rivaling actors in the American military administration of Germany, OMGUS, during 1945/46. The chapter finds that actors make materials effective through two interlocking strategies. First, actors re-engineer an institution in order to control which materials it produces and disseminates; second, actors align and adapt the specific content, form, and delivery of materials to their broader aim. The chapter supplements the economic history of Germany after World War II with a historical epistemologist perspective. It shows that the shift of US policy from economic restriction to reactivation was facilitated by a group of actors in OMGUS. By re-engineering the institution and creating official materials with a consistent narrative, they succeeded in transmitting their view, the need for economic reactivation, to the Washington administration.

Abstract
Purpose
This study examines what is the significance of the features of inter-organizational relationships in consecutive phases of the relationship life cycle.
Design/methodology/approach
Qu antitative, large-scale surveying was run on 786 software developers operating in Poland. The research hypothesis regarding the systematic increase of relational features (i.e. commitment, communication, (lack of) conflict, cooperation, intensity, investments, longevity, multidimensionality of bonds, trust, and velocity) across the particular relationship life cycle phase le (i.e. initial, development, maintenance, dormant/end, and reactivation) was verified using ANOVA and post-hoc tests.
Findings
The results show that the majority of considered features of inter-organizational relationships non-significantly but progressively strengthen from the initial phase, through the development phase, to the maintenance phase, then significantly weaken in the dormant/end phase and strengthen again in the reactivation phase. Interestingly, velocity–as the only examined feature–significantly increases in dormant/end and then decreases if the relationship is reactivated.
Originality/value
Prior studies were focusing on single feature, this one offers a holistic view considering ten relational facets. Moreover, this is one of the few research studies exploring the changes of relational features adopting the life cycle perspective.

Abstract
Laser surface melting (LSM) on sensitized austenitic stainless steel of cold‐work 25 per cent was carried out by using a continuous wave CO2 laser of power 5kW and traverse speed 20mm/sec of the beam. The stainless steel was sensitized at 898K for 10, 20 and 50hr durations. ASTM A262 Practice A test was used to examine the microstructures of the specimens before and after LSM while single loop electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation (SL‐EPR) technique was used to quantify the degree of sensitization (DOS). A trend is noted between the cold‐work of stainless steel and the degree of desensitization by LSM.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the potential returns to value chain actors from employing desiccant bead drying and hermetic storage technology.
Design/methodology/approach
Information was collected from 175 different onion (Allium cepa L.) seed value chain actors in Nepal. Four different business models for the introduction of new bead drying and hermetic storage technology were compared to current practices through use of partial budgeting.
Findings
The increase in net income throughout the chain was quite similar in all four models, ranging from US$28.86 to 29.61 per kg of onion seed, making it difficult to say that any single model is best for all situations. However, there are differences in sharing of positive net income and negative net income for different actors in different models. Moreover, about US$5.85 million incremental return could be earned per year in Nepal from improved preservation of onion seed alone.
Research limitations/implications
This research assesses how to introduce a new technology, the dry chain concept to maintain seed quality, into the existing marketplace.
Originality/value
This paper focuses on the economics of a novel technology and compares different business models and scenarios.
