Project managers in information systems play a central role in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of software. Software metrics assist these managers in identifying opportunities for process improvement and help quantify software characteristics. Weaknesses in the traditional approaches to measuring reliability have led to the development of software metrics. The interpretation of software metrics can be critical to making effective responses in the management information systems’ decision‐making processes. This paper gives insight into the use and understanding of some software metrics.

The following classified, annotated list of titles is intended to provide reference librarians with a current checklist of new reference books, and is designed to supplement the RSR review column, “Recent Reference Books,” by Frances Neel Cheney. “Reference Books in Print” includes all additional books received prior to the inclusion deadline established for this issue. This chapter focuses on analyzing conscious consumption practices of sustainable products among the young generation, and their perceptions and behavior toward it. Because university students are the future consumers, they are more educated and aware than the typical person (Mcmillin & Dyball, 2009), will have earning capacity, and will be able to influence others in their workplaces (Nejati & Nejati, 2013), it is critical to measure sustainable consumption in the context of university students. Businesses and marketing strategies must also take into account sustainable consumption. In this vein, policy and business ramifications have been explored (Joshi & Rahman, 2015; Young, Hwang, McDonald, & Oates, 2010). Taking in view the above viewpoint, the focus of the study is to measure and analyze the responses of young generations to conscious consumption of sustainable products in Pune City. This is a descriptive study that was conducted among the 501 students at MIT-World Peace University (MITWPU) in Pune using a judgmental sampling method. Data collection was done through a standardized questionnaire using Google forms. Exploratory factor analysis and percentage analysis were used to examine the responses obtained using SPSS IBM 28.0. The results of the study reveal that conscious consumption enhances the environmental, social, and economic quality of life among young generations. It reflects conscious sense among youth as well as their perception and behavior on caring about themselves, the environment, and conserving for future generations.

Anyone who has tried to review studies relating to use of academic libraries may argue that a great deal of research exists on college students and how they use their libraries. Studies of reading habits and library use among college students have been appearing for more than fifty years, and the diligent student can compile an impressive bibliography of these studies. In spite of all we have learned about student interaction with library resources, there is still much we do not know.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate final projects in a freshman leadership course (combining grounding in leadership theories with a service-learning component) to determine what students learned about leadership, themselves as developing leaders, and leading in the civic community, and how deeply they learned these concepts. Students found situational leadership theories, team leadership theories, and leadership principles (Drath, 2001) most relevant to their experiences. Personally, students learned about themselves as individuals, leaders, team members, and community members. Civically, students learned how to apply leadership theories, work in teams, and about the community as a system. In terms of depth of learning, based on Bloom’s (1956) taxonomy, students were able to identify, describe, and apply concepts and to some extent analyze and synthesize them. These findings suggest that using service learning to help students learn about both the theory and practice of leadership is a viable alternative.

The Howard Shuttering Contractors case throws considerable light on the importance which the tribunals attach to warnings before dismissing an employee. In this case the tribunal took great pains to interpret the intention of the parties to the different site agreements, and it came to the conclusion that the agreed procedure was not followed. One other matter, which must be particularly noted by employers, is that where a final warning is required, this final warning must be “a warning”, and not the actual dismissal. So that where, for example, three warnings are to be given, the third must be a “warning”. It is after the employee has misconducted himself thereafter that the employer may dismiss.

Research has shown that individuals of different ages hold different environmental attitudes and perform environmental behaviors of different kinds and to varying degrees. The strength and direction of age-effects observed across studies has been inconsistent, however. This study aims to examine the relationship between age and a variety of environmental sustainability-related psychological variables using meta-analytic techniques.

Relationships between age and environmental concern, environmental values, attitudes toward environmental behaviors, environmental awareness, environmental knowledge, environmental motives, environmental intentions, and pro-environmental behaviors were examined. Data from relevant studies between 1970 and 2010 were meta-analyzed to determine the magnitudes of relationships between age and environmental variables, and to investigate whether effects generalize across studies.

Most relationships were negligibly small. Small but generalizable relationships indicated that older individuals appear to be more likely to engage with nature, avoid environmental harm, and conserve raw materials and natural resources.

Stereotypes about age-differences in environmental sustainability are commonly held in organizations. If work and organizational psychologists are to encourage and help individuals to be more environmentally responsible at work, understanding how age affects these efforts is imperative. By meta-analytically estimating age-differences in environmental sustainability variables, the present study helps to dispel erroneous stereotypes and guide organizations to implement effective environmental interventions.
