This paper aims to investigate the impact of board gender diversity (BGD) on firm financial stability during the COVID-19 pandemic compared to the pre-pandemic period.

Difference-in-differences method was used for a sample of 891 US companies observed from 2018 to 2021.

The results indicate significant negative relationships between BGD and financial stability. The authors put in evidence a nonlinear relationship between BGD and financial stability. Also, the authors found that internal women directors as well as external ones decrease financial stability.

The results emphasize the beneficial effect of having more women on corporate boards during health crises and suggest that policymakers should take measures to promote BGD.

This study examines the dynamics of multidimensional poverty in Nigeria from 2003 to 2018, focusing on women and children, to understand the reality of poverty in Nigeria, where poverty reduction has been stagnant.

This study employed the first-order dominance (FOD) methodology to conduct a multidimensional analysis of poverty among households, women and children in Nigeria, using data from the Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) conducted in 2003, 2008, 2013 and 2018. We examined how the relative position of multidimensional poverty in each zone has changed for approximately 20 years.

The results indicated that the north-south poverty gap in Nigeria persisted as of 2018 and, regarding within the north and south, changes in the relative pecking order of poverty between the zones have occurred considerably over the past two decades. Different trends were also observed for child and female poverty, suggesting the influence of the unique dimensions of poverty and cultural differences.

This study is the first poverty analysis to apply the FOD approach to children and women in Nigeria, the country with the highest poverty, over a relatively long period of 2003–2018.

The purpose of this paper is to report on the results of a study carried out to identify and analyse which potential subject areas may have impact on developments in the field of building maintenance (BM). That is, it is intended to contribute to the integration of new approaches so that building maintenance management (BMM) becomes as automated, digital and intelligent or smartness as possible in the near future.

The research approach has resulted in a theory that is essentially based on a qualitative design. The route followed was a literature review, involving the collection, analysis and interpretation of carefully selected information, mostly from recently published records. The data assembled and the empirical experience itself made it possible to present a comprehensive viewpoint and some future outlooks.

Five thematic areas considered as potentially impactful for BM developments have been highlighted, analysed and generically labelled as thematic base words, which are monitoring, automation, digitalisation, intelligence and smart. This paper purposed a multi-facet sentiment analysis system.

Hence, This paper uses multidomain resources to build a sentiment analysis system. The manual lexicon based features that are extracted from the resources are fed into a machine learning classifier to compare their performance afterward. The manual lexicon is replaced with a custom BOW to deal with its time consuming construction. To help the system run faster and make the model interpretable, this will be performed by employing different existing and custom approaches such as term occurrence, information gain, principal component analysis, semantic clustering, and POS tagging filters.

The proposed system featured by lexicon extraction automation and characteristics size optimization proved its efficiency when applied to multidomain and benchmark datasets by reaching 93.59% accuracy which makes it competitive to the state-of-the-art systems.
