For most of us in the industry, and certainly the members of CEMA, 1992 could have been much better. To look back over the black spots would serve only to remind us that we are not yet out of the woods. Despite the continuing recession with its attendant gloom and despondency, the Association has had some high points during the past year.

Abstract
Plans to hold this year's CEMEX show at Birmingham have been endorsed by CEMA members at the recent Annual General Meeting. CEMEX '94 will be held in the Pavilion Hall at the National Exhibition Centre from 20–22 September. A number of other venues were considered, but market research among a sample of visitors and exhibitors showed the majority in favour of staying at the NEC. The Association plans to continue its efforts to produce an attractively priced package for exhibitors, similar to previous shows, where some costs, such as power and lifting, were included in the stand price. This concept was introduced successfully for the last show in 1992, resulting in many exhibitors making substantial savings over booking the services separately.
As reported in the last issue of Circuit World, the Association has started the year with a major push to support those members involved in the export market.
