Abstract
Research on underbanked and unbanked populations has tended to focus on rural borrowers. Lenders to this disadvantaged population are often seen as loan sharks preying on the disadvantaged or as corporate capitalists using micro loans to financialize the developing world. Building on the concept that money has social meaning and that it both creates and maintains significant local relationships, we explore the lending practices of a small gray-market financier in urban Bangkok. While most anthropology research is borrower-focused, we detail the processes and cultural understandings of making loans, collections, trust, and personal relationships of a lender in a Bangkok neighborhood. From her perspective, lending is perceived as a community service that no other institution provides to the under/unbanked in her neighborhood. Marking a divergence from prior development research, which emphasizes the high interest rates of informal lenders, the difficulties faced by borrowers in rural areas, the gendered relationships and hierarchies developed and sustained via lending, this article highlights the lending-side practices of informal loans and the limited ability to move from the liminal space of the gray-market lending business.

Abstract
Purpose
In heat transfer problems, if the temperature difference is not sufficiently so small then the linear Boussinesq approximation is not adequate to describe thermal analysis. Also, nonlinear density variation with respect to temperature/concentration has a significant impact on heat and fluid flow characteristics. Because of this reason, the impact of nonlinear density variation in the buoyancy force term cannot be neglected. Therefore in this paper, the unsteady flow and heat transfer of radiating magneto-micropolar fluid by considering nonlinear Boussinesq approximation is investigated analytically.
Design/methodology/approach
The flow is fully developed and time-dependent. Heat and mass flux boundary conditions are also accounted in the analysis. The governing equations of transport phenomena are treated analytically using regular perturbation method. To analyze the tendency of the obtained solutions, a parametric study is performed.
Findings
It is established that the velocity field is directly proportional to the nonlinear convection parameter and the same trend is observed with the increase of the value of Grashof number. The micro-rotational velocity profile decreases with increase in the nonlinear convection parameter. Further, the temperature profile increases due to the presence of radiative heat aspect.
Originality/value
The effectiveness of nonlinear Boussinesq approximation in the flow of micropolar fluid past a vertical plate in the presence of thermal radiation and magnetic dipole is investigated for the first time.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper sets out to report attitudes of staff on key health service committees towards community participation before and after appointment of community representatives.
Design/methodology/approach
The paper shows a self‐completed questionnaire administered to staff on committees as a baseline measure and 12 months after community representatives had been appointed.
Findings
The paper finds that significantly more staff at the follow‐up survey reported that they and other staff were clear about the role of community representatives and how to work with them on committees. Significantly more staff at follow‐up felt that the health service was ready for this type of initiative. There was no significant increase in the percentage of staff who felt that financial and other supports for community representatives were sufficient and no significant changes in staff views about the potential for community representatives to influence decision making, although there were strong trends in a positive direction.
Research limitations/implications
The study in this paper was conducted in one health service and did not follow changes in attitudes of particular staff over time. Larger samples would be necessary to assess generalisability of findings and future studies should examine in more depth staff beliefs about the role and influence of community members on committees.
Practical implications
The paper implies that the development of ongoing and constructive relationships between health services and communities clearly takes time and, at least in part, results from direct experience working alongside community members.
Originality/value
The paper shows that this is the first study examining how the attitudes of health service staff to community participation change over time and as a direct result of interaction with community members on committees. A better understanding of health service staff attitudes to community participation is important for health care managers to effectively address structural and attitudinal barriers to community participation.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to assess the representation of women of color (WOC) in the top 3 fashion magazines and explore the implications of underrepresentation within marketing communications. The authors draw from diffusion theory and marketplace omission and commission to situate the research focus and highlight its application to the study findings.
Design/methodology/approach
A content analysis was conducted on 481 cover models on the top three fashion magazines of 2018 – Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Vanity Fair during 2006–2018.
Findings
The findings indicate WOC are underrepresented despite the strides of inclusion in the marketplace in America during a postracial period. Representation is as follows: white – 412 (86%); black – 41 (9%); Latina – 19 (3.9%); biracial 7 (1.5%); Asian – 1 (0.2%); and Native American – 1 (0.2%). Latina models had the lowest representation. Native and Asian women were completely excluded. When they do appear, black and Latina cover models are more likely than white models to be shown wearing sexually suggestive attire.
Practical implications
This study makes four recommendations to promote antiracism in marketing: diversify staff hiring and editorial decision-makers for public-facing talent; solicit counsel from multicultural marketing agencies; create antiracist marketing curriculum; and cultivate a pipeline of diverse talent for future hiring.
Originality/value
The originality of this paper centers its contribution to the dearth research investigating representation implications within the fashion marketing industry during an alleged post-racial period, and a longer time span. It also presents structured antiracist marketing solutions to mitigate underrepresentation.

Abstract
Purpose
Limited attention has been given to the study of social marketing at the graduate level. Such a study not only reveals research interests and trends, but also provides insights into the level of academic evolution or maturity of the social marketing field. This paper aims to examine social marketing as the subject of master’s theses.
Design/methodology/approach
A search strategy found 266 social marketing-focused master’s theses completed from 1971 to 2015. These theses were analysed by host countries, institutions, disciplinary contexts and degree programmes for which they were submitted.
Findings
Only four theses were submitted from 1971-1980 and eight completed in 1981-1990. The number of theses increased to 35 in 1991-2000, 118 between 2001 and 2010 and 101 in the past five years (2011-2015). The USA was the leading producer of social marketing master’s theses, followed by Canada, Sweden, China, South Africa, the UK and Kenya. A majority of theses were housed in the disciplines of business, health and communication, and none of them was submitted for a Master of Social Marketing degree.
Originality/value
This is the first study that investigates master’s theses with an exclusive focus on social marketing. Implications for the evolution, learning and teaching of social marketing are provided.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to review the usability of the Autopsy Forensic Browser in order to improve future versions of this, or similar, tools.
Design/methodology/approach
The software Autopsy Forensic Browser was analysed for usability using a cognitive walkthrough approach.
Findings
The results of the evaluation indicate that there are many areas where usability could be improved and these are classified into areas of eight overlapping areas. Examples from each area are presented, with suggestions as to methods to alleviate them.
Research limitations/implications
The review is limited by the use of the “expert evaluator” approach rather than using a user‐based evaluation. This would tend to mean that some of the usability errors would be “false positives”, while some usability issues were not uncovered. A user‐based evaluation could be a future project.
Practical implications
Usability could be improved of the Autopsy Forensic Browser and developers of such systems should engage with the usability and interaction design community to enhance their software. It would be helpful for users, if future versions of the software take account of the findings of the paper.
Originality/value
This is one of the first reviews of the usability of forensic analysis software and the first for the Autopsy Forensic Browser system. The value is the findings suggest practical ways to enhance usability, which will impact on the effectiveness of investigators.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this research is to analyse the problems for occupational health and safety (OHS) regulators posed by agency work/leased labour (also known as labour hire in Australasia), using Australian evidence.
Design/methodology/approach
The analysis is based on an examination of prosecutions involving labour hire firms along with other documentary records (union, industry and government reports and guidance material). The study also draws on interviews with approximately 200 regulatory officials, employers and union representatives since 2001 and workplace visits with 40 OHS inspectors in 2004‐2005.
Findings
The triangular relationship entailed in labour leasing, in combination with the temporary nature of most placements, poses serious problems for government agencies in terms of enforcing OHS standards notwithstanding a growing number of successful prosecutions for breaches of legislative duties by host and labour leasing firms.
Research limitations/implications
Research to investigate these issues in other countries and compare findings with those for Australia is required, along with assessing the effectiveness of new enforcement initiatives.
Practical implications
The paper assesses existing regulatory responses and highlights the need for new regulatory strategies to combat the problems posed by labour.
Originality/value
The OHS problems posed by agency work have received comparatively little attention. The paper provides insights into the specific problems posed for OHS regulators and how inspectorates are trying to address them.
