Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to improve the alignment accuracy of large components in aircraft assembly and an evaluation algorithm, which is based on manufacture accuracy and coordination accuracy, is proposed.
Design/methodology/approach
With relative deviations of manufacturing feature points and coordinate feature points, an evaluation function of assembly error is constructed. Then the optimization model of large aircraft digital alignment is established to minimize the synthesis assembly error with tolerance requirements, which consist of three-dimensional (3D) tolerance of manufacturing feature points and relative tolerance between coordination feature points. The non-linear constrained optimization problem is solved by Lagrange multiplier method and quasi-Newton method with its initial value provided by the singular value decomposition method.
Findings
The optimized postures of large components are obtained, which makes the tolerance of both manufacturing and coordination requirements be met. Concurrently, the synthesis assembly error is minimized. Compared to the result of the singular value decomposition method, the algorithm is validated in three typical cases with practical data.
Practical implications
The proposed method has been used in several aircraft assembly projects and gained a good effect.
Originality/value
This paper proposes a method to optimize the manufacturing and coordination accuracy with tolerance constraints when the postures of several components are adjusted at the same time. The results of this paper will help to improve the quality of component assemblies.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper improves the evaluation index system of green building operation effect and establishes the evaluation model of green building operation effect. It is expected to promote energy saving and emission reduction and provide a more scientific evaluation method for green building operation effect evaluation.
Design/methodology/approach
First, 20 key evaluation indexes are selected to establish the operation effective evaluation index system. Then, the combined weight method is proposed to determine the weight of each evaluation index. Next, the gray clustering-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used to construct the green building operation effective evaluation model. Finally, the feasibility and validity of the selected model were verified by taking Shenzhen Bay One green building in Shenzhen as an example.
Findings
This paper establishes the evaluation system of green building operational effect, and evaluates green building from the angle of operational effect. Taking Shenzhen Bay One project as an example, the rationality and applicability of the model are verified.
Originality/value
In this paper, for the first time, relevant indexes of user experience are included in the evaluation system of green building operational effect, which makes the evaluation system more perfect. In addition, a more scientific fuzzy gray clustering method is used to evaluate the operational effect of green building, and a new evaluation model is established.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to introduce the human arm movement primitive (HAMP) to express and plan the motions of anthropomorphic arms. The task planning method is established for the minimum task cost and a novel human-like motion planning method based on the HAMPs is proposed to help humans better understand and plan the motions of anthropomorphic arms.
Design/methodology/approach
The HAMPs are extracted based on the structure and motion expression of the human arm. A method to slice the complex tasks into simple subtasks and sort subtasks is proposed. Then, a novel human-like motion planning method is built through the selection, sequencing and quantification of HAMPs. Finally, the HAMPs are mapped to the traditional joint angles of a robot by an analytical inverse kinematics method to control the anthropomorphic arms.
Findings
For the exploration of the motion laws of the human arm, the human arm motion capture experiments on 12 subjects are performed. The results show that the motion laws of human arm are reflected in the selection, sequencing and quantification of HAMPs. These motion laws can facilitate the human-like motion planning of anthropomorphic arms.
Originality/value
This study presents the HAMPs and a method for selecting, sequencing and quantifying them in human-like style, which leads to a new motion planning method for the anthropomorphic arms. A similar methodology is suitable for robots with anthropomorphic arms such as service robots, upper extremity exoskeleton robots and humanoid robots.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to present a new kinematics mapping method based on dynamic equivalent points. In teleoperation, this method enables a robotic (follower) arm to mimic human (leader) arm postures and avoid obstacles in a human-like manner.
Design/methodology/approach
The information of the human arm is extracted based on the characteristics of human arm motion, and the concept of equivalent points is introduced. Then, an equivalent point is determined to transform the robotic arm with a nonhuman-like kinematic structure into an anthropomorphic robotic arm. Based on this equivalent point, a mapping method is developed to ensure that the two arms are similar. Finally, the similarity between the human elbow angle and robot elbow angle is further improved by using this method and an augmented Jacobian matrix with a compensation coefficient.
Findings
Numerical simulations and physical prototype experiments are conducted to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method. In environments with obstacles, this method can adjust the position of the equivalent point in real time to avoid obstacles. In environments without obstacles, the similarity between the human elbow angle and robot elbow angle is further improved at the expense of the end-effector accuracy.
Originality/value
This study presents a new kinematics mapping method, which can realize the complete mapping between the human arm and heterogeneous robotic arm in teleoperation. This method is versatile and can be applied to various mechanical arms with different structures.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to investigate the stress corrosion cracking (SCC) process of sensitized 304 stainless steel during the slow strain rate test by using the electrochemical noise (EN) technique.
Design/methodology/approach
EN data are interpreted based on chaos and wavelet analyses, and correlation dimension and wavelet energy distribution are used as indicators for SCC process identification.
Findings
Experimental results reveal that the corrosion potential abruptly decreases from 180 to 100 mV at 6,300 s and the current increases from 10 to 100 nA accordingly, which is attributed to passive film breakdown and crack initiation. Chaos and wavelet analyses results reveal that, as crack initiates, the correlation dimensions increase from 1.2 to 1.9, and the corresponding distribution frequencies of maximum relative wavelet energy change from high frequency to low frequency.
Originality/value
SCC is monitored in lab, and crack initiation and propagation are identified by chaos and wavelet analyses. This work lays the foundation for SCC detection in field using EN.

The purpose of this paper is to study the transition process from the crystalline particles appearing before the pump inlet to the stable operation of the pump.
Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to study the transition process from the crystalline particles appearing before the pump inlet to the stable operation of the pump.
Design/methodology/approach
Firstly, a modeling test method was put forward for the high-temperature molten salt pump. Then, according to a modeling test scheme, the experiment of the solid–liquid two-phase flow was carried out by using a model pump similar to the prototype pump. Meanwhile, the numerical method to simulate the transition process of a molten salt pump was studied, and the correctness of the numerical model was verified by the experimental results. Finally, the transition process of the molten salt pump was studied by the verified numerical model in detail.
Findings
In the simulation of the transition process, it is more accurate to judge the end of the transition process based on the unchanged particle volume fraction (PVF) at the pump outlet than on the periodic fluctuation of the outlet pressure. The outlet pressure is closely related to the PVF in the pump. The variation of the outlet pressure is slightly prior to that of the PVF at the pump outlet and mainly affected by the PVF in the impeller and volute. After 0.63 s, the PVF at each monitoring point changes periodically, and the time-averaged value does not change with time.
Practical implications
This study is of great significance to further improve the design method of molten salt pump and predict the abrasion characteristic of the pump due to interactions with solid particles.
Originality/value
A numerical method is established to simulate the transition process of a molten salt pump, and a method is proposed to verify the numerical model of two-phase flow by modeling test.

Abstract
Purpose
ISM technique is one of the tools of interest in soft operations research. The soft nature of this technique has made inevitable use of indeterminacy theories. The present research attempts to develop ISM technique and MICMAC analysis in a neutrosophic space due to the complexity and uncertainty of the decision-making environment.
Design/methodology/approach
In this study, single-valued triangular neutrosophic numbers is used to develop Neutrosophic ISM (NISM) and Neutrosophic MICMAC (NMICMAC). First, the general algorithm of NISM and NMICMAC is provided. In the following, the complete description of NISM steps including level value determination, Factor Leveling Algorithm and NISM digraph algorithm are presented. Finally, a description of the NMICMAC steps is described.
Findings
An illustrative example – supplier selection problem – is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method and in the discussion section; the comparison and analysis of different aspects of the NISM with the previous methods are discussed.
Originality/value
In this study, NISM and NMICMAC are presented for the first time, so that each pairwise comparison judgment is provided as single valued triangular neutrosophic numbers. The development of the model is continued until the final stages of calculations with neutrosophic numbers, and only in the final stage the results are crispy presented. In addition, not only the factors of process are leveled, but at each level the factors are lined up and their importance is determined.

Abstract
Carbon emission is one of the most important problems of today. In this framework, it is important for countries to take the necessary actions to solve this problem. Energy use is one of the most important causes of carbon emissions. Choosing fossil fuels in this process increases the carbon emission problem. Therefore, it is understood that countries should be more sensitive about energy types. In this context, renewable energy (RE) sources are recommended by experts. However, due to some problems of these energy types, it does not seem possible to meet all energy needs from these sources. It is thought that nuclear energy will produce a permanent solution to the carbon emission problem. In this context, it is recommended that the use of nuclear energy be put on the agenda by countries.
