Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to investigate how employee environmental performance (EP) is affected by socially responsible human resource management (SRHRM) via green knowledge sharing (GKS) and environmental commitment (EC).
Design/methodology/approach
Partial least squares-structural equation modeling was used to analyze data from 494 frontline employees of hotels.
Findings
The findings reveal that SRHRM influences employee EP, GKS and EC. SRHRM indirectly predicts individual EP through GKS and EC mediation. GKS and EC also have significant relationships with employee EP.
Practical implications
Hotels can use the findings of this study to develop effective strategies to promote employees’ positive responses to the environment and improve their organizational identification. Moreover, the current research enables the organization to recognize the importance of employees’ GKS and EC and capitalize on them.
Originality/value
This study links SRHRM to the individual EP level in the hotel industry. This study reveals the importance of EC and GKS as psychological mechanisms linking SRHRM and EP.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to investigate the moderated mediation between organizational culture (OC) and employee performance (EP), with a focus on how high-performance managerial practices (HPMPs) affect OC’s indirect effect via similarities in religious teachings (SRT), which was put to the test.
Design/methodology/approach
Data was collected from 275 working professionals. Partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used for data analysis.
Findings
The results indicate that SRT mediate the relationship between OC and EP. HPMPs enhance EP by increasing the effect of OC on SRT.
Research limitations/implications
As a part of people and performance management as a function of the human resource management team this study contributes to OC literature by exploring the role of similarities in religious teaching in enhancing EP and OC. The HPMPs are complemented by the SRT that enhance OC thereby improving EP.
Practical implications
This study paves way for addressing the OC problems being faced by the organizations. Organizational development interventions to enhance the OC and its effectiveness in overall performance enhancement are complemented by SRT. This becomes a trigger point for practitioners to initiate interventions based SRT.
Originality/value
Till now, there is no evidence examining the role of moderated mediation based on the SRT complementing HPMPs.

Abstract
Purpose
This study examines the effects of employer attractiveness (EA) on employee engagement (EE) and employee performance (EP).
Design/methodology/approach
Mixed method. The analytical technique is the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling through survey questionnaires collected from 937 respondents as employees from 37 enterprises in Vietnam.
Findings
EA has a positive impact on EE and EP factors. However, EE has no statistically significant impact on EP.
Practical implications
This study helps managers build solutions toward retaining talent and improving EP through the strategy of building EA. Concurrently, this study guides the important factors to build an effective EA.
Originality/value
This study explores the relationship between three factors: EA, EE and EP. This has added a new research direction of EA to existing employees. In addition, the study results provide a new perspective on the relationship between EE and EP.

Abstract
Purpose
With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the human race is compelled to fight an unseen microscopic enemy. Coronavirus has had a significant impact on the lives of people working in higher educational institutes (HEIs). The purpose of this research is to examine the effects of organizational resilience (ORes) and perceived organizational support (POS) on employee performance (EP), as well as the mediating effect of POS on the relationship between ORes and EP, in the time of a crisis of such massive scale.
Design/methodology/approach
An online survey questionnaire was used to collect data (N = 390) from teaching and non-teaching professionals in HEIs across India. Further, regression analysis, factor analysis, structured equation modeling, reliability and validity analysis, mediation analysis and model-fit indices analysis were employed to analyze the data collected from target population.
Findings
The study results confirm the full mediation effect of POS on the relationship between ORes and EP. According to the results of the study, ORes and POS have a part to play in enhancing the performance levels of employees working in HEIs.
Practical implications
This study is especially crucial for the employees and the organizational leadership as the study can help improve the resilience capabilities in the HEIs. As indicated in the study, ORes and the POS are both instrumental in enhancing the performance of the employees.
Originality/value
With reference to India's HEIs, the current study investigates the mediating effect of POS on ORes and EP relationship during the time of crisis.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of the paper is to delve into innovation and happiness management linked to the definition of transcendence at work. The paper analyses in the context of innovation and happiness management the relation of the three dimensions taken from Khari and Sinha (2020: Sense of we-ness, self-connectedness and work as a service. The paper also proposed indicators to applied transcendence and moral competencies to the banking sector guiding behaviour toward successful experiences at work as an antecedent of both, transcendence and employees´ performance.
Design/methodology/approach
The article starts with a VOSviewer-based bibliometric analysis to examine the recent development of happiness management as an emergent topic of research. A co-word analysis served to identify that the main research theme related to the topic is transcendence at work. The theoretical framework serves for developing a conceptual model that is analysed by taking structural equations modelling (SEM) as the method and partial least squares (PLS) as the technique. To test the hypotheses, the authors employed a sample of 354 employees from the main banks in Spain in 2021 (Santander, Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), CaixaBank, Bankia and Sabadell).
Findings
The results confirm that Innovation and happiness management is related to moral competencies, which refer to the set of knowledge, skills and abilities that facilitate ethical behaviour in the banking sector. Innovation and happiness management include individual attributes for good performance in each job; this research is in line with the prominent call in the literature to consider moral competencies in human resources management.
Originality/value
Originality lies on the answer of the question: what is the role of employee transcendence in the turbulent banking sector today? This paper seeks to approach and measure the relation of innovation, happiness and transcendence at work, Transcendence at work often arises when individuals connect their work to a higher purpose or mission, that connection is based on the idea that any effort to improve any of these three attributes provides successful solutions for the complex banking sector's performance.

Abstract
Purpose
This study investigates the relationship between responsible leadership (RL) and employee sustainable performance (ESP), utilizing the CSR theory as a theoretical framework. Furthermore, this study aims to examine the role of ethical climate as a potential mediator in the relationship between RL and ESP.
Design/methodology/approach
A sample of 415 employees from the healthcare sector of India was collected through a questionnaire-based survey by using the convenience sampling technique. The data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with the help of SmartPLS 4.
Findings
The study's findings demonstrated a significant, positive association between RL and ESP [employee well-being (EWB) and employee performance (EP)]. Additionally, the findings show that ethical climate partially mediates the link between RL and ESP (EWB and EP).
Research limitations/implications
The generalizability of the study's data collection is limited because it is based on the responses of Indian healthcare sector employees to an online and offline survey. The authors propose that the healthcare industry implement an intensive leadership training program in light of the findings of this study, which will aid human resource (HR) managers in comprehending the significance of RL and fostering related behaviors, such as encouraging employees to maintain ethical behavior and positive attitudes.
Originality/value
To the authors' understanding, this study is among the earliest attempts to present an integrative model that examines the relationship between RL, ethical climate and ESP in the context of Indian healthcare employees, incorporating the theory of corporate social responsibility (CSR). Moreover, the novelty of this research study examines the relationship between RL and ESP, with an ethical climate serving as a mediator. The focus is specifically on employees working in the Indian healthcare sector.

Abstract
Purpose
China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a framework of regional connectivity in which employees have to work in a cross-cultural environment. This study has extended the leader-member exchange theory by investigating the mediating role of employee commitment (EC) between the relationship of leader-member exchange (LMX) and employee's work-related behaviors.
Design/methodology/approach
PLS-SEM technique was used to test the model by utilizing a multi-wave/two-source data collected from employees and their supervisors (n = 500) working in different energy projects of CPEC.
Findings
According to the results/findings, LMX has a significant positive impact on employee commitment, employee performance (EP) and open-minded discussions, but insignificant impact on innovative work behaviour (IWB). Mediating role of employee commitment was significant between the relationship of LMX with EP and open-minded discussions, but insignificant with the IWB.
Originality/value
The study contributes empirical evidence to understanding the leader-member exchange relationship among Chinese managers and Pakistani workers. It also contributes to the LMX theory literature by investigating the effect of LMX on followers' outcomes (employee performance, IWB, open-minded discussions) through employee commitment.

Abstract
Purpose
The aim of the study is to test the integrated model involving work stress, office clutter and employee performance with the moderating roles of training and self-discipline (SD) after the re-opening of the banks after the COVID-19 wave.
Design/methodology/approach
The study used 333 respondents from banking industry, whose responses were recorded using a closed ended questionnaire. The authors used partial least square path anaysis to analyze the data.
Findings
Work stress significantly increases office clutter, which harms the employees’ performance. Moreover, SD and training significantly improve employees’ performance by reducing work stress and thereby office clutter. There are various mechanisms through which both these factors reduced stress and office clutter.
Practical implications
The employee’s performance can be enhanced with lower levels of office clutter. The office clutter can be managed through having lower levels of stress and providing people with training and inculcating SD among them. A greater understanding of the factors that count toward office clutter might help bank managers and employees to address the issues related to their performance.
Originality/value
The authors have proposed a new framework involving conservation of resources theory for the employees’ performance. They posit employees’ performance is an organizational resource, which can be conserved as well as enriched both by employers and employees through their own contribution.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to examine whether employee outcomes of employee performance and job satisfaction mediate and enhance the effect of e-HRM usage on organizational performance.
Design/methodology/approach
Data were collected through a survey involving 35 organizations using e-HRM systems. A partially mixed sequential dominant status explanatory design was used for the study. A stratified convenience sampling technique was used for the quantitative phase of the study. A purposive sampling technique was employed for the qualitative phase. A structural equation modelling technique with the use of the process macro approach was used to analyse collected data.
Findings
There is a positive relationship between e-HRM usage and employee outcomes. Employee performance and job satisfaction mediate the effect of e-HRM usage on organizational performance. Employee performance and job satisfaction are contextual variables that characterize effective e-HRM configurations.
Practical implications
Organizations should invest in employee outcomes in order to maximize the potential of e-HRM. The e-HRM configurations characterized by a multiplicity of dimensions are more likely to add to organizational value creation. The deployment of e-HRM systems should be preceded by high levels of employee performance and job satisfaction, for organizational success.
Originality/value
The study contributes to a growing body of knowledge on dimensions, which characterize effective e-HRM configurations, yielding organizational success. Employee performance and job satisfaction should be added to the characteristics of effective e-HRM configurations.

Purpose
The COVID-19 pandemic and technological advancements have enabled employees to telework. Referring to this emerging phenomenon, the authors aim to examine how employees' levels of trust in management mediated by psychological well-being impact their performance as they telework. Deploying the theoretical lens of person-environment misfit, the authors also explore the role of technostress in the trust-wellbeing-performance relationship.
Design/methodology/approach
The data was collected from 511 full-time service sector employees across Indian organizations through a structured survey questionnaire. The proposed moderation-mediation model for this study was tested using structural equation modeling and bootstrapping method.
Findings
Structural equation modeling results indicate that trust in management significantly impacts employee performance while teleworking. While psychological well-being was observed as a significant mediator, technostress played the moderator role in the trust-performance relationship. The moderated-mediation effect of psychological well-being in the trust-performance relationship was stronger when technostress was low and weaker when technostress was high.
Research limitations/implications
The authors extend the person-environment misfit theory in the context of telework, highlighting the role of technostress that may impact the trust-wellbeing- performance relationship in such work settings.
Practical implications
The study informs leaders and managers on balancing delicate aspects such as employee trust and well-being that significantly impact performance as they telework. The authors also highlight the critical role of managers in respecting employees' personal and professional boundaries to alleviate technostress.
Originality/value
The authors make a novel theoretical contribution to the emerging literature on teleworking by examining the trust-psychological wellbeing-performance link and the role of technostress in this relationship.
