Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to introduce the moment of inertia of the driving and driven end of the clutch into the analysis of the transient temperature field of a friction plate and studied the influencing factors on that, especially to a marine gearbox.
Design/methodology/approach
A three-dimensional transient heat transfer analysis model of a wet clutch friction plate used in a marine gearbox is developed, and the transient characteristics of the temperature field during engagement are analyzed with taking account of the influence factors such as the sliding friction coefficient, engaging revolving speed, moment of inertia and applied engagement pressure.
Findings
The paper found out that the hot spot appears on the surface of the friction plate, taking account of the effect of radial slots and spiral groove. To avoid damage to the friction plate as a result of overheating, the appropriate sliding friction coefficient, lower engaging revolving speed and reasonable selection of applied engagement pressure curve can ensure a favorable heating situation of the friction plate. The reasonable structural design for the clutch with a bigger moment of inertia of driving end and smaller moment of inertia of driven end can reduce the engaging time effectively and decrease the peak temperature of the friction plate.
Originality/value
This paper fulfils a method to study the transient temperature field of a wet clutch friction plate, especially used in a marine gearbox.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to investigate the psychological mediating mechanisms through which omnichannel integration affects customer word-of-mouth (WOM) behaviors in omnichannel retailing.
Design/methodology/approach
Guided by prior omnichannel retailing studies, the authors identify taxonomy of customer WOM behaviors with three archetypes, namely, face-to-face WOM, online store WOM, and social media WOM. Then, the authors draw on social exchange theory (SET) to explain how omnichannel integration influences customer WOM behaviors through the mediating roles of perceived personal preference fit and perceived social relatedness. The authors empirically tested the model using structural equation modeling and multiple mediation analysis with a field survey of 335 omnichannel customers.
Findings
Perceived personal preference fit positively influences face-to-face WOM and social media WOM, whereas perceived social relatedness is positively associated with face-to-face WOM, online store WOM, and social media WOM. Furthermore, transactional integration and relational integration positively affect perceived personal preference fit, whereas relational integration has a positive effect on perceived social relatedness. Finally, perceived personal preference fit mediates the effects of transactional integration and relational integration on face-to-face WOM and social media WOM. Perceived social relatedness mediates the effects of relational integration on face-to-face WOM, online store WOM, and social media WOM.
Originality/value
The authors' study advances the omnichannel retailing literature by proposing a taxonomy of customer WOM behaviors in omnichannel retailing and identifying the mediating mechanisms through which omnichannel integration influences customer WOM behaviors.

Abstract
Purpose
The paper investigates the effects of climate change along with ecological and carbon footprint on rice crop production in India during 1982–2016.
Design/methodology/approach
The autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL), canonical cointegration regression (CCR) and fully modified ordinary least square (FMOLS) models are used in the paper.
Findings
A long-run relationship is found between climate change and rice production in India. Results report that ecological footprint and carbon footprint spur long-term rice production. While rainfall boosts rice crop productivity in the short term, it has a negative long-term impact. Further, the findings of ARDL models are validated by other cointegration models, i.e., the FMOLS and CCR models.
Research limitations/implications
This study provides insights into the role of ecological footprint and carbon footprint along with climate variables in relation to rice production.
Originality/value
In the literature, the effects of ecological and carbon footprint on rice production are missing. Therefore, this is the first study to empirically examine the impact of climate change along with ecological footprint and carbon footprint on rice production in India.

Abstract
The latest release of the stress analysis finite element system BERSAFE contains a new general substructuring facility for use in either elastic or non‐linear analysis. The technique allows a considerable extension to the available facilities in that parts of the structure can be stored on datafiles for current or subsequent use. In the latter case, repeated computations are avoided for components with identical geometric and material properties, so effectively larger problems can be solved without a proportional increase in cost and effort. For non‐linear analysis, the technique is well suited to cases where non‐linear behaviour is confined to certain parts of the structure, such as in the vicinity of stress concentrations and crack tips. The elastic areas can be replaced by a substructure boundary, thereby concentrating the analysis on the higher‐stressed portions of the structure and so reducing the extent and cost of each iteration. The non‐linear substructuring technique is described in detail and illustrated by examples.

Purpose
This exploratory research aims to investigate the barriers to career advancement for women accountants in China.
Design/methodology/approach
Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight accountants working for business companies and occupying different-level positions.
Findings
Women accountants in China encounter barriers throughout their career paths. The main barrier is a negative perception of women’s work performance after having a child. Although the modern communist state claims that women have a role equal to that of men in their work contributions, centuries-old Confucian attitudes constrain women in their choices of balance between work and home life.
Originality/value
The findings of this research call for enforcement of employment laws in China to give women equal opportunities in both recruitment and promotion. This research contributes to both Western and Chinese existing literature, confirming some prior findings that are contrary to modern China’s rhetoric that “Women hold up half the sky”. It also adds the perspective of accountants working in business companies rather than public practice accounting firms.

Abstract
Purpose
The missing travel time data for roads is a common problem encountered by traffic management departments. Tensor decomposition, as one of the most widely used method for completing missing traffic data, plays a significant role in the intelligent transportation system (ITS). However, existing methods of tensor decomposition focus on the global data structure, resulting in relatively low accuracy in fibrosis missing scenarios. Therefore, this paper aims to propose a novel tensor decomposition model which further considers the local spatiotemporal similarity for fibrosis missing to improve travel time completion accuracy.
Design/methodology/approach
The proposed model can aggregate road sections with similar physical attributes by spatial clustering, and then it calculates the temporal association of road sections by the dynamic longest common subsequence. A similarity relationship matrix in the temporal dimension is constructed and incorporated into the tensor completion model, which can enhance the local spatiotemporal relationship of the missing parts of the fibrosis type.
Findings
The experiment shows that this method is superior and robust. Compared with other baseline models, this method has the smallest error and maintains good completion results despite high missing rates.
Originality/value
This model has higher accuracy for the fibrosis missing and performs good convergence effects in the case of the high missing rate.
