Abstract
Presents a linear time algorithm to find the maximum area triangle enclosed in a planar convex region. The algorithm is based on inspecting a selected set of chords in a decreasing sequence of slopes and the number of chords so inspected is proportional to total number of vertices resulting in a linear time algorithm. Addresses the problem because of its importance in robotics, computational geometry and other research areas.

Abstract
This paper discusses a new similarity measure for the anomaly‐based intrusion detection scheme using sequences of system calls. With the increasing frequency of new attacks, it is getting difficult to update the signatures database for misuse‐based intrusion detection system (IDS). While anomaly‐based IDS has a very important role to play, the high rate of false positives remains a cause for concern. Defines a similarity measure that considers the number of similar system calls, frequencies of system calls and ordering‐of‐system calls made by the processes to calculate the similarity between the processes. Proposes the use of Kendall Tau distance to calculate the similarity in terms of ordering of system calls in the process. The k nearest neighbor (kNN) classifier is used to categorize a process as either normal or abnormal. The experimental results, performed on 1998 DARPA data, are very promising and show that the proposed scheme results in a high detection rate and low rate of false positives.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to assess green marketing as an influential factor in the purchase of real estate. In this study, the consumer citizenship behaviour of young individuals will be studied with an assessment of real estate purchase intention, strategic green marketing orientation (GMO) and tactical GMO.
Design/methodology/approach
The sample frame consists of young consumers from India’s metropolitan cities. The respondents were in the range of 18 to 35 years of age. These cities provide a high standard of living, more career options and better educational opportunities. Five separate sections of a standardised questionnaire were used, and a structural equation model was used to assess a total of 393 valid replies.
Findings
Green marketing impacts the behaviour that influences the desire of young customer to buy green real estate.
Research limitations/implications
As the focus of this study is primarily on major cities, future research may study similar behaviour in non-metropolitan cities. The study can also be conducted among consumers of other age groups.
Originality/value
The originality, to the best of the author’s knowledge, exists in examining how young consumers’ opinions about green marketing impact their intentions to purchase green houses and real estate in India. This study will be accessible to all parties involved in the housing and real estate industries.

Abstract
Purpose
This research investigated the individual and combined effects of dynamic and operational capabilities on new product success using an improved measurement instrument.
Design/methodology/approach
The empirical data were collected from 872 manufacturing firms in Thailand via a questionnaire survey. Then data were analyzed by covariance-based structural equation modeling.
Findings
The improved measurement instrument provided good reliability and validity. Dynamic capabilities improved new product success through operational capabilities, which fully mediated this relationship. Dynamic capabilities negatively moderated the effect of operational capabilities on new product success.
Research limitations/implications
The empirical model derived from private manufacturing company data should be further tested in service industries, public firms and nonprofit organizations.
Practical implications
The research provided two implications: the complementarity between dynamic capabilities and operational capabilities and the measurement instruments and the industrial benchmarks.
Originality/value
This study contributes three new insights: firstly, the complementary role of dynamic capabilities and operational capabilities supporting new product success; secondly, the mediating role of operational capabilities and thirdly, the moderating role of dynamic capabilities in this relationship.

Abstract
Purpose
The compulsive buying (CB)behaviour has become topics of increasing interest to researchers and policy makers, particularly because researches have shown that it can influence consumer behaviour and well-being. However, a clear picture of how this phenomenon arises has proven elusive. Using the adolescents perceived level of stress as an integrative framework, the purpose of this paper is to derive hypotheses from two theoretical perspectives (the stress and CB behaviour), and uses a survey of adolescents (15-18) year in India to test the hypotheses.
Design/methodology/approach
The present study is the first to experimentally manipulate important stressors in the lives of adolescents, i.e. familial and non-familial; and measures its impact on CB among a sample of 15-18-year old adolescents. Next, the authors investigate the relationship between CB and post-purchase regret and then whether gender moderates the stress-CB relationship.
Findings
The present study finds that adolescents increasingly turn to CB in an attempt to cope with heightened levels of stress due to familial and non-familial factors. Surprisingly, findings reveal that non-familial factors are not a major source of stress among adolescents. Gender was not found to moderate stress-CB relationship. Both boys and girls were found to respond to higher levels of stress with higher incidences of CB. Results suggest that CB behaviour is a common coping strategy for adolescents from both genders. The findings indicate that one’s experiences and circumstances in adolescence are related to their CB behaviour, thus a framework has been used to elucidate them, have important implications for theory and practice.
Originality/value
The study makes some inimitable and significant contributions to the literature. It portrays one of few studies to investigate CB during adolescence period – a hard to reach population. Here authors experimentally manipulate stress levels to investigate its impact on CB. The study’s findings in regard to gender’s impact on the stress-CB relationship suggest that CB begins during adolescence period and is a common coping strategy for both boys and girls.
