Intertronics has announced a range of Dymax solvent free, UV cure conformal coatings which cure faster than ever and eliminate tacky surfaces under moderate intensity lights. Complete shadow curing under components and in areas not exposed to UV light can be carried out using a number of curing methods.
SureCure conformal coatings provide optimum circuit assembly protection, increased processing speed, lower total assembly costs and compliance with health and safety standards for air quality and worker safety, along with the confidence of complete coating cure. Shadow curing under components is achieved at room temperature in the presence of oxygen, or with two part mix systems. Coatings that cure at elevated temperatures by a post bake process are also available.
SureCure 984 is a dual component, 100 percent solvent and ODC-free coating that cures via UV light together with a chemical reaction between the two components and air. It is designed for fast room temperature cure when exposed to user friendly long wave (320-380 nanometer) UV light.
Regions shadowed from UV exposure cure via a post-cure reaction with air, areas that are not only UV restricted but oxygen inhibited cure chemically. Resilient coatings with the same properties as the UV light-cured areas are achieved without exposure to moisture.
Multi-Cure 984-LVUF is a single component system with secondary heat curing capability to effect shadow cures.
New low cost, ultra fast adhesives kit with curing gun
Dymax has also introduced an ultra-fast adhesives kit comprising a selection of five 5ml adhesive syringes together with an economical, hand held UV light gun. The adhesives, for bonding glass, plastic, metal and many porous surfaces, cure in seconds on exposure to the light, forming tough, durable bonds in the same time as more costly, higher intensity, UV curing lamps.
Ideal for optical assembly, wire tacking and bonding of small components of various materials to each other, the adhesives are available as thixotropic gels with high green strength to stay where they are dispensed. The new range has been designed to cure more rapidly on exposure to user friendly, visible, low intensity, long wave UV light.
The HHL 400 light gun can be preset to a curing cycle time of three, five, or ten seconds, selected with a thumb switch. A 45° angled, 8mm light guide allows for 360° rotation of the light.
Typical visible light intensity is 400 milliwatts/cm2 with lower intensity long wave UV light. Over 10,000 bonds can be formed during the life of one bulb. The gun's handgrip is ergonomically designed and balanced for ease of operation.
