Royal Society of Chemistry signs with Blackwell's ESP for Chemicals & Companies

Keywords Blackwell's, CD-ROM, Chemicals, Royal Society of Chemistry

The Royal Society of Chemistry has recently signed an agreement with Blackwell's to make the Chemicals, Formulated Products and their Company Sources CD-ROM (short name Chemicals & Companies) available through Blackwell's ESP (Electronic Subscription Provider) service. ESP provides Internet access to Chemicals & Companies, offering all the benefits of a networked CD-ROM. Internet access is password controlled. ESP removes the need for investment in CD-ROM hardware or networking solutions and disk administration.

Chemicals & Companies is a worldwide directory which provides data on chemical raw materials and formulated (trade name) products and their producers and agents/distributors. Updates are issued quarterly. The Spring 1999 update provides details for over 17,000 chemicals, 63,000 trade names and 34,000 companies, an overall increase of more than 30 per cent over the initial release in February 1998.

A number of publishers already make CD-ROMs available through ESP, and more are under negotiation. For further information about ESP contact cdcomplete@blackwell.co.uk or visit http//www.blackwell.co.uk

For further information about Chemicals & Companies contact marketing@rsc.org or visit http//www.rsc.org/c&c. A free 30-day trial is available on request.
