Abstract
Relates how the Electronic Mailing List for the US Executive Information Systems Special Interest Group (EISSIG) was confused for the Clinton administration′s Office of Electronic Publishing and E‐Mail. Tells how EISSIG list holders were swamped with irrelevant messages. Draws some conclusions about the use of E‐Mail and the prevention of such confusion. Remarks on the social implications of being able to “speak” to the President.
