Abstract

Purpose

The paper seeks to examine how both training partnerships and innovation technology provide the scope to deliver programmes that offer better value for money, more relevant content and more easily accessible training resources.

Design methodology/approach

The paper looks at how technology and training partnerships are positive news for client organisations as standards of training will ultimately be pushed higher and return on investment will become more transparent, for the good of the industry as a whole.

Findings

The current economic situation has inevitably resulted in training budgets being cut. Some training organisations have responded by partnering and pooling resources to offer more tailored course content and some now offer remote delivery. The paper looks at the advantages of each innovation.

Practical implications

The paper encourages client companies and training organisations to be more innovative in their approach to training given the current economic climate.

Originality/value

The paper is valuable to training organisations and client companies as it explores the potential of remote delivery and training partnerships to improve standards overall.
