Abstract

Batch dosing of paints and inks plays an important role in the industry. The gamma/4a and gamma/5 series of solenoid‐driven diaphragm‐type metering pumps from ProMinent Fluid Controls (UK) Ltd are microprocessor controlled, making them ideal for use in batch operations. The microprocessor enables all standard signals to be used directly for pump control without the need for additional signal processing devices. The pumps can either be controlled by standard analogue process signals, or can communicate with a remote computer via an optional RS232 interface. Digital signals such as those from voltage‐free contacts and open‐collector contacts may also be used to control the pumps.
