Abstract

The research goal is to summarize the insights from an investigation of the higher education institutes (HEIs) and university's educational services promotion strategy, which incorporates social media as a medium for keeping in touch with important people throughout time. The study centered on the impact of promotional efforts done by higher education Institutes (HEIs) on social media on students’ decisions for their selection of HEIs and universities as well as the study focus factors that influence the students' decisions. In the third quarter of 2022, based on a carefully chosen sample, researchers used an internet questionnaire to conduct an empirical study. The assessment of the outcomes focused on identifying the significant aspects and their significance in the marketing endeavours conducted on social media platforms, which serve as predictors of student decision-making. Three important predictors Social Media Engagement, Content Contribution, and Stakeholders Review were identified and their significant impact on social media marketing by HEI are hypothesized and tested. All the study variables confirm the existence of a significant relationship with the dependent variable. The study concluded that these factors were identified as significant influences on the choice of study and higher education institution. Gaining new followers, prominence content display and stakeholders' feedback builds long-lasting linkages with the immediate environment. As a foundation for creating successful social media marketing strategies for higher education institutions, this research is useful for marketers since it elucidates the dynamics of the market and the habits of potential pupils.

Abstract

The 21st century is marked by significant transformative shifts and pivotal global events that have exerted a profound impact on the global economy. These changes in market perceptions have served as the bedrock for shaping marketing actions and formulating strategic processes. Since the onset of this century, the landscape of marketing has experienced an unceasing evolution, compelling enterprises to engage in competitive endeavours, vying to introduce cutting-edge strategies and customer acquisition methodologies.

The fundamental objective of the conducted research was to unearth pioneering solutions within the domain of online marketing and discern the opportunities that these innovations confer within the framework of attaining organizational objectives. In pursuit of this objective, an exhaustive inquiry was undertaken through in-depth interviews conducted with three small-size enterprises. The findings underscored the critical role that innovations on the Instagram platform play in charting a course towards the accomplishment of business objectives for these companies.

Given the dynamic alterations brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, which include heightened consumer consciousness and the expeditious advancement of digitalisation, this subject assumes paramount importance. Empirical findings derived from the research unequivocally substantiate that the incorporation of marketing innovations on the Instagram platform stands as a pivotal facet of companies' overarching marketing strategies. This integrative approach translates to augmented sales outcomes, heightened viewership, cultivation of brand image and an enhanced competitive stance.

Abstract

In 2023, two international football (soccer) tournaments amplified attention on the women's game in Oceania. Football organisations are efficient at measuring participation of these events, of their training programmes, and related activities. However, their evaluation of the impacts within or on local football communities remains relatively rare, particularly for those marginalised through gender. Women and girls commonly engage in football for more complex reasons than those underpinning the participation of men and boys. Football organisations in the Pacific Islands tend to treat women's football communities differently to those around men and boys. Yet often the same conventional processes of appraisal are applied. This chapter offers critical reflection on evaluation processes of a new initiative, This is How We Football, aimed at participation of young women and girls in safe environments. The initiative is deployed by regional governing body, Oceania Football Confederation (OFC). In its efforts to address a wider range of gender norms and related issues identified within local communities, the programme includes the use of Indigenous/local epistemologies and oratory practices alongside conventional measures. This chapter considers the incorporation of place-based approaches to evaluation and the challenges and opportunities the process presents for OFC. In doing so, it contributes to wider understanding of engagement with local football communities in parts of Oceania.

Abstract

Digital detox practices seek to encourage tourists to disconnect from their devices and immerse themselves in the destination they are visiting. This may involve activities such as meditation, yoga or simply abstaining from social media and email. The impact of digital detox practices on tourist experiences can vary depending on the individual. While some tourists may find it difficult to disconnect from their devices, others may appreciate the opportunity to fully engage with their surroundings without distractions. Ultimately, digital detox practices have the potential to promote mindfulness and enhance the overall travel experience for those who are willing to try them.

In this section, digital detox defined and different forms are mentioned. The motivation factors of digital detox tourism activities carried out in this context and destinations and businesses for digital detox holidays will be examined. The chapter concluded by analysing the feedback obtained from consumers on TripAdvisor. This chapter provides a valuable contribution to the present digital detox tourism, which is in the market as a new touristic product by offering a comprehensive literature review. In addition, the chapter examines the review of comments made by tourists on TripAdvisor about digital detox tourism. The chapter further offers recommendations to tourism businesses on how to enhance their services in this domain. As a result, this section is expected to make a valuable contribution to both the academic literature and the tourism industry, specifically in the area of digital detox tourism.

Abstract

There has been considerable discussion about the poor outcomes of irresponsible management, which are often discussed as being the result of “shortcomings” of contemporary capitalism: runaway self-interest, quarterly focus, elite orientation, volume orientation, and one-pattern capitalism (Kim, 2022). In order to address such shortcomings in business education, particularly with strategy-related modules that were taught with a focus on creating “shareholder value,” the Sustainable Decisions and Organisations (SDO) module was designed by academics as the capstone module for the master of business administration (MBA) program and delivered with the aim of developing capabilities of students to be leaders and future generators of sustainable value for business and society at large. The students participating in the module are shown how a “stakeholder” approach to developing business strategy can lead to more sustainability-oriented value creation. The module addresses how companies can contribute to “sustainability” by aligning their economic/financial, societal, and ecological impacts with limited resources through strategy. This contribution discusses the implementation of this module and demonstrates how students are provided learning opportunities around how sustainability-related issues can be embedded into a business organization's strategy to enhance the organization's performance while addressing risks by working with stakeholders to create value and thus be able to contribute to relevant UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

This chapter looks at the need for the central bank to shift their mindset more towards resilience instead of stability at all costs, as well as embracing innovation, experimentation and testing. The chapter then looks at the need for the central bank to upgrade their mode of operations, particularly to achieve a better balance between rules-based and goals-based regulations, and a more collaborative approach towards stakeholders. This chapter ends by looking at the need for digital transformation of central banking operations, both for those external oriented, e.g. SupTech and RegTech, and those internal-oriented.

Abstract

COVID entered the world in 2019 as a pandemic and the intensity of this health crisis is only increasing in several regions. Therefore, it is critical to study and detect the public's frame of mind, government and economists' perception regarding the COVID crisis, as well as the primary worries that the public has expressed, and how this evolves over time. Responsive measures towards COVID-19 from the Indian economy have been explored as a key objective. Moreover, efforts have been made to explore recovery in India through economists and policymakers. Data have been explored through online interviews of key economists which were published in leading newspapers and covered through media channels such as NDTV, CNBC, etc. Moreover, various newspapers and reports were explored to understand government initiatives to address COVID-19 in India. The study's findings show how essential economic recovery from the second wave is in India, and how it may be achieved by strong fiscal and monetary policies, as well as specific attention to impoverished households, small and micro-businesses and increased employment. The short-term focus of the developing economic strategy must be on giving crisis relief to the most unprotected segments of society since long-term system stimulation is impossible.
