Abstract
This article’s indented contribution is to provide novel theoretical insights and empirical observations on “who gets what” in the way of incomes, including wages. The article challenges the conventional wisdom about stratification, especially power and status, as an outcome or function of economic distribution. It posits that income distribution is conditional on pre‐existing social stratification expressed in antecedent differences in class, power, status and related factors.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to compile an annotated list of films about or pertaining to the artist Andy Warhol.
Design/methodology/approach
Films were located using library catalogs, databases and online searches. Selections were evaluated through inspection and both academic and popular film reviews. Inclusion was predicated not only on subject matter and merit but also on availability either on home media or online.
Findings
Warhol’s many artistic creations can be introduced and evaluated using a combination of visual and auditory representation. Movies and television (TV) depicting Warhol through dramatization, primary source film, biographical documentary and his art in the context of other artists and movements are readily available through a variety of media.
Originality/value
The selected titles provide a comprehensive introduction to the scholarly analysis of Warhol’s art and work through a format that allows the most extensive representation of Warhol’s artistic output.

Abstract
This study explores the relationship between firm value and conforming tax avoidance (tax avoidance that does not create a book-tax difference). Tax avoidance provides firms with more cash and creates value. However, conforming tax avoidance has costs, such as lower book income, and these costs potentially lower firm value. As such, it is unclear whether conforming tax avoidance is positively or negatively correlated with firm value. We use a measure of conforming tax avoidance that was recently introduced in the literature, and bifurcate tax avoidance into conforming and nonconforming portions using a large sample. We present evidence that investors place a negative value on conforming tax avoidance for the average firm. We also examine the top quartile based on the measure of conforming tax avoidance and find a positive correlation between firm value and conforming tax avoidance for this subsample.

Abstract
THE earliest catalogue of Cambridge University documents was compiled by Mr. William Rysley, in 1420. Most of the documents enumerated in this list are still extant. An interesting List of the Documents in the University Registry, from the year 1266 to the year 1544, was communicated to the Cambridge Antiquarian Society by the Rev. H. R. Luard, B.D., then University Registrar, on March 6th, 1876. From this, it appears that “The earliest document which the University possesses is so late as the year 1266. The earliest in the Record office is dated 16th July, 13 Hen. III., i.e. 1229. This is a permission to scholars of the University of Paris to come to England, and remain for purposes of study.”

Abstract
Purpose
The paper aims to explore the reading behavior among LibraryThing users through the linked book-recommendations of 15 popular books.
Design/methodology/approach
The research was approached by using the normality test as an index regarding the current reading situation that expresses the intensity of reading preferences upon specific or various topics. The selected variable was the number of book members that is automatically referred by LT statistics. First, 15 popular book titles were included in the research. Second, the combined book recommendations associated with the books under study and appearing in LibraryThing were selected, and their members' data was analyzed.
Findings
In order to evaluate the normality, data were plotted and they showed that the combined recommended books do not follow the curve of normal distribution. The lack of normality shape in all the books studied indicates that 25 percent of reading preferences are based on books with a specific theme, and are closely related to the book under study, while 75 percent are related to various subjects.
Originality/value
Approaches to reading preferences of LT users are partially unexplored, and this research examines one of its aspects.
