Abstract
Purpose
The aim of this paper is to understand the relationships between service quality and customer satisfaction and how they impact corporate image and customer loyalty.
Design/methodology/approach
Data were collected from several cities in Mauritius. The study sample included participants who stayed in various hotels in Mauritius; the participants were randomly approached and invited to participate in a survey on their respective hotel's services.
Findings
Corporate image is influenced both by service quality and customer satisfaction, which in turn influences customer loyalty. Thus, the key to customer loyalty appears to be the fostering of a favorable image of the hotel firm created by improving service quality and satisfying customers.
Research limitations/implications
Given the difference in values and cultures among different countries, the findings need to be confirmed by further evidence from other countries. Future research should further investigate the impacts of service quality, customer satisfaction, corporate image, and behavior intentions on organizational performance measures such as profitability, extend the integrative framework and incorporate other variables.
Practical implications
This study clearly illustrates the importance of a long term focus on superior service delivery on a firm's image. Service quality and customer satisfaction should therefore aim to enhance a long term image of the firm in the customer's mind.
Originality/value
This research clearly adds new knowledge to the present body of hospitality literature and will assist managers by providing a practical approach to enhance customer loyalty.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between customer satisfaction and six dimensions of service quality (CARTER model) in Islamic banks of Pakistan, the UK and UAE.
Design/methodology/approach
This study uses a sample of 225 customers of Islamic banks; 75 responses have been taken from each country. Structured questionnaire technique has been used to collect data.
Findings
The paper's findings reveal that Pakistani and UK Islamic banking customers consider assurance, reliability and empathy as significant factors for customer satisfaction, whereas UAE customers consider assurance and tangible as significant dimensions of satisfaction.
Research limitations/implications
The study's limitation relates to the sample size of the respondents.
Practical implications
This study is significantly important for the academic point of view, as well as for the practitioners, managers and policy makers to find out the pattern of customer satisfaction in terms of service quality for Islamic banks.
Originality/value
The current study is of particular value because it is a comparative study of customer satisfaction and service quality dimensions (CARTER model) of Islamic banks in Pakistan, UK, and UAE.

The importance of software has been growing rapidly owing to the development of various Internet and e‐business applications. One of the active research areas in software involves its evaluation methods or models. The traditional approaches to software evaluation are based on the development process point of view, and their major concerns are not strongly related to user or customer‐oriented evaluation of software. In this paper, a maturity model and a corresponding evaluation system are suggested that focuses on software customer satisfaction. As a case study, they are applied to 18 software companies and their 180 customers in Korea to prove their practical values.

Abstract
Purpose
Fitness centers have become quotidian fundamentals. Consequently, center managers face escalating competitiveness to sustain their businesses. Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 emphasizes quality of life and the gravitation toward healthy lifestyles. The service quality of fitness centers is an essential factor influencing customer satisfaction. Owing to the dearth of research on this topic, especially on female-only fitness centers, this study aims to investigate the factors affecting the service quality of female fitness centers in Saudi Arabia regarding satisfaction. Additionally, this study examines the moderating roles of age and income on the relationship between service quality and satisfaction.
Design/methodology/approach
The Service Quality Assessment Scale (SQAS) was adopted with five of the original dimensions (staff, workout facilities, physical facilities, exercise program and locker room) and two newly added dimensions (parking and social environment). This study also investigates the moderating roles of age and income on the relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction.
Findings
All SQAS dimensions positively affected the quality of fitness centers. Furthermore, the service quality of fitness centers increased women's satisfaction, and age and income moderated the relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction.
Originality/value
Fitness centers are highly competitive, and this study offers insights for managers of such facilities to improve customer satisfaction.

Abstract
Purpose
It is widely evident that trust and commitment are important pillars for strengthening the relationship between financial service firms and their customers. However, it has not been explored how the service quality, perceived cost and role of agents are important for financial service firms. To overcome this gap, this study aims to investigate the role of service quality, perceived cost and the role of agents as the commitment–trust factors in the financial insurance service (Takaful) in Malaysia, enhancing customer satisfaction.
Design/methodology/approach
The study follows a quantitative design in which primary data was collected using a survey instrument. The measurement instrument was adapted from the previous research, and data were collected from 264 customers of the Takaful financial service organizations in Malaysia. The data were analyzed using variance-based structural equational modeling in Smart-PLS software.
Findings
This research has revealed several useful insights that demonstrate a significant impact on service quality, perceived cost and the agents’ role in forging close relationships with their customers. Corporate image has a moderating role in relationships and has significantly impacted takaful insurance companies. The results imply that regardless of the corporate image of the financial service organizations, customers are concerned about the prices and the quality of the agents’ services.
Research limitations/implications
In this study, only the predictors such as service quality, perceived costs and agents’ roles as trust–commitment factors were examined to determine customer satisfaction. Other investigations are highly recommended, such as value co-creation in takaful, takaful customer experience and takaful trust. This study offers insights to takaful insurance companies on how to keep up a positive corporate image, which will boost their trust–commitment factors and ultimately increase customer satisfaction.
Originality/value
By presenting commitment–trust factors and company image in an identifiable framework, the current study has expanded the discussion on takaful financial insurance services. The methodology is developed and rigorously tested to gauge customer satisfaction in takaful financial service organizations’ context.

Abstract
Purpose
Variations in customer expectations pose a challenge to service quality improvement in the airline industry. Understanding airline customers' expectations and satisfaction help service providers improve their offerings. The extant literature examines airline passengers' expectations in isolation, neglecting the overall impact of online reviews on service quality improvement. This paper systematically evaluates the airline industry's passengers' expectations and satisfaction using expectation confirmation theory (ECT) and the SERVQUAL framework. The paper analyzes online reviews to examine the relationship between airline service quality attributes and passengers' satisfaction.
Design/methodology/approach
The SERVQUAL framework was employed to examine the effects of customer culture, the reason for traveling, and seat type on customer's expectations and satisfaction across a large sample of airline customers.
Findings
A total of 17,726 observations were gathered from the Skytrax review website. The lowest satisfaction ratings were from passengers from the USA, Canada and India. Factors that affect perceived service performance include customer service, delays and baggage management. Empathy and reliability have the biggest impact on the perceived satisfaction of passengers.
Research limitations/implications
This research increases understanding of the consumer expectations through analysis of passengers' online reviews. Results are limited to a small sample of airline industries.
Practical implications
This study provides airlines with valuable information to improve customer service by analyzing online reviews.
Social implications
This study provides the opportunity for airline customers to gain better services when airline companies utilize the findings.
Originality/value
This paper offers insights into passengers' expectations and their perceived value for money in relation to seat types. Previous studies have not investigated value for money as a construct for passengers' expectations and satisfaction relative to service quality dimensions. This paper addresses this need.

Abstract
Purpose
Customer reviews on online platforms after their service experience not only provide useful information to help other customers make reasonable decisions about the hotel, but also provide a great opportunity for scholars to refresh the research directions on customer experience and satisfaction in tourism services. This paper aims to discover the key driver of international tourist satisfaction in the hospitality service and the way to effectively improve this factor, starting with the abundant online customer reviews.
Design/methodology/approach
A multi-perspective approach was used to compare the differences in service providers and service user’s interpretation of the factors that shape customer satisfaction. In addition to content analysis of nearly 2,500 online reviews of international tourists for 21 high-class hotels in Vietnam on Booking.com in 2019, the authors conducted in-depth interviews with the managers of 5-star hotels to show a comprehensive picture of customer satisfaction drivers, especially the staff factor.
Findings
The research results have clarified the main aspects of the staff – the most important service factor among the seven hotel service factors investigated from the customer’s perspective. On the other hand, the study also emphasized the gap between customers’ perception of the staff and the enterprise’s efforts and implementation of this factor. These findings allowed to identify aspects of staff that could be further improved to more effectively satisfy customers and provide a superior experience.
Research limitations/implications
The study suggested a potential research direction using a multi-perspective approach to better understand trends and shifts in customer experience and satisfaction. Further studies could overcome the limitation of the research scope of this paper by examining different destinations or expanding the exploration of both mid-range and budget hotels.
Practical implications
The findings offer implications for managers to improve tourist satisfaction by developing organizational culture and mindfulness-related training programs for employees.
Originality/value
This study has enriched the literature of tourism and hospitality services by providing empirical evidence on the exploitation of big data sources and deepening the insights into international tourist satisfaction with hotel services.

Abstract
Purpose
The aim of the paper is to measure the service quality, satisfaction, service value and behavioral intentions of Gen Z in leading global Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs) in India by integrating QUICKSERV into an established model of consumer behavior.
Design/methodology/approach
A cross-sectional study design was used for the hypothesis testing. Service quality perceptions with satisfaction, service value and behavioral intentions were measured using structural equation modeling.
Findings
The outcomes suggest a direct effect of the service quality of QSRs on the satisfaction, service value and behavioral intentions of Gen Z customers. Satisfaction further influenced customers' behavioral intentions. However, customer satisfaction and behavioral intentions were not directly influenced by service value. Finally, the association between service quality and behavioral intentions was mediated by satisfaction.
Practical implications
Managers should encourage a pleasant attitude, good grooming and friendliness in QSR employees as Gen Z highly values these aspects. At the same time, QSRs should focus to elevate the service value of Gen Z customers by lowering their sacrifice perceptions and fostering initiatives.
Originality/value
Although many studies have considered millennials along with Gen Z to analyze the relationship between service quality and behavioral intentions in different service settings, few researchers have considered the impact of Gen Z consumer features in service quality research separately. The findings of the study will help both practitioners of different QSR brands and facilitators in hospitality academia to better understand the nuances and uniqueness of Gen Z consumer behavior in the QSRs.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to investigate two primary objectives. First, this study examines the influence of modified service quality dimensions on Islamic bank customer satisfaction using a compliance, reliability, empathy, assurance, tangible, operational efficiency, responsiveness (CREATOR) model. Second, the study explores the relationship between customer satisfaction, trust, loyalty and word of mouth (WOM) in Islamic banking of Pakistan.
Design/methodology/approach
The proposed model was analyzed using PLS-SEM-based approach. A total of 312 usable responses were used for data analysis.
Findings
The results indicate that all CREATOR dimensions have a significant positive impact on Islamic banks’ customer satisfaction. Similarly, this study also found a significant positive relationship between customer satisfaction, trust, loyalty and WOM. Overall, this study modified a well-established service quality framework by successfully implementing the CREATOR model in Islamic banking.
Originality/value
This study will provide helpful policy guidelines for Islamic bank managers improve their service quality and strengthen their relationships with existing and new customers. The authors are also sure that their proposed model will add value to the ongoing service quality literature by indicating the role of operational effectiveness in increasing customer satisfaction and promoting positive WOM.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to discuss the main points in the dimensions of the quality of the electronic services to be considered in the future to adapt to future transactions and how to benefit from them.
Design/methodology/approach
This study relies on the developments and to cope with them so that the banks and customers shift from dealing in the traditional way to the electronic method, which has become a cause of the gap in understanding customers for electronic banking use of the descriptive-analytical approach. A questionnaire was used as a source for collecting data and information about the study variables. It was distributed to three Jordanian banks, and the number of participants was 170. This study uses two primary sources for collecting data and information: secondary sources that relate to the theoretical aspect and preliminary sources related to the analytical aspect of the study subject.
Findings
The results showed that the impact of e-banking quality dimensions of the study (ease of use, time, confidentiality and security) was high, which required the bank to maintain its high levels and monitor them from time to time.
Originality/value
The value of this study comes from the following points: the relationship between the quality of electronic banking services and customer satisfaction; this study is one of the few field attempts in Jordan to assess the impact of the quality of electronic banking services on the satisfaction of customers in banks; this study provides new scientific results on the impact of the quality of electronic banking services on the satisfaction of customers in the Jordanian banks.
