Editorial

After seven years steering the editorial direction of Team Performance Management, the Journal’s longstanding editor, Linda S. Wing, stand downs. An enthusiastic campaigner for the journal, Linda has been instrumental in shaping the journal’s identity as an outlet for accessible and managerially relevant writing on teams and other collaborative work groups. The journal’s eclectic and inclusive nature today reflects strongly Linda’s style of editing and her approach to developing the work of both established and new authors. I thank Linda for her considerable contribution to the journal as its Editor and I am delighted that she will remain involved with the Journal as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board.

Following Linda’s departure, the journal moves on to a new editorial team. I am pleased to announce that Dr Fiona Lettice (Norwich Business School) and Dr Martin McCracken (University of Ulster) will be the Journal’s new Editors. Fiona Lettice is a senior lecturer in Norwich Business School at the University of East Anglia (UK) and a visiting research fellow at Cranfield University (UK). The main focus of her research is in new product development and innovation management. She has been active in a number of European Commission Economic and Social Science Research Council (ESRC) and Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) funded research projects in the areas of discontinuous innovation, knowledge management and innovation, complexity theory, performance management and innovation in regional clusters. A key theme in these projects is how organisations operate and collaborate internally and within wider networks to improve innovation performance. Prior to her academic career, Fiona worked in industry as a Project Manager for an energy sector organisation and as a Consultant on design and engineering projects for automotive industry clients. Martin McCracken is a lecturer in Organisational Behaviour in the School of Business Organisation and Management at the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland. His areas of expertise include strategic human resource development and team development, management participation and transfer in learning and development, and employability and social inclusion. Martin’s research has focused on the future skill needs of managers (Department for Education and Employment, UK), graduate recruitment and retention (University Forum for HRD), employability and partnership working in Europe (Department for Employment and Learning NI) and labour market strategies in the Scottish Highlands (Joseph Rowntree Foundation/Highland Council). He is currently involved in a major UK-wide research project for the Sector Skills Development Agency into skills deficiencies and skills development strategies.

Fiona and Martin’s collective experience and expertise encompasses a broad range of disciplinary perspectives, research approaches and industry knowledge. I am delighted that this diverse range of skills and experience will be brought to bear on the journal. I welcome Fiona and Martin as new Editors and look forward to working with them as the journal moves on to the next exciting stage of its development.
