New company – new standards in stencil printing

Keyword: Stencil printer

KT300, the first batch stencil printer in the KT Series, is now launched by KIStech (see Plate 7). Reflecting this new company's commitment to innovation, KT300 provides the opportunity to apply batch production stencil printing techniques to volume production applications, enhancing productivity and equipment utilisation factors.

Providing fully automated six sigma accuracy, KT300 ensures optimum control of process variables. KIStech patented vision technology, with Independent Direct Capture (IDC) of vision alignment data, dramatically reduces the need for time-consuming set-up and calibration procedures. Dual independently controlled squeegees, programmable stencil separation profile and balanced vacuum under-side stencil cleaning further enhance process control. Accommodating board sizes from 25 x 25mm up to 460 x 400mm, KT300 delivers class-leading levels of repeatability and print accuracy.

Setting new standards in safety, machine functions, including loading and unloading, take place within enclosed and interlocked covers, ensuring that operators are not exposed to any potentially hazardous moving machinery. Control system status is continually monitored, ensuring that KT300 is always in a secure, fail-safe condition, before any changes, adjustments or routine maintenance can be undertaken.

KIStech System Tooling option facilitates rapid, accurate set-up and configuration to further reduce downtime and increase productivity. A wide range of PCBs, including double-sided boards with extensive cut-out or open areas, can be accommodated. Programmable, balanced vacuum eliminates through-board airflow and stencil or board distortion, characteristic of some methods of PBC location. Utilising System Tooling, even the most sensitive boards are optimally located, whilst vision software integrates tooling set-up procedures.

Operating within a Windows 2000 environment, KT300 uses a menu-driven graphical user interface. SEMI E95-0200 compliance ensures compatibility with other electronics manufacturing equipment, reducing operator training and further improving productivity.
