Valor Computerized Systems has announced the release of Version 5 of its popular Enterprise 3000 DFM (design for manufacture) verification and optimization software and Trilogy 5000 engineering system for assembly and test.
Version 5 of the software encompasses several enhancements, most notably: support for breakthrough signal quality analysis functionality. Based on a physical model of the printed circuit assembly included in the ODB++ database, signal quality analysis references the geometric locations of each signal to specific features, then applies sophisticated shape based algorithms. With meaningful measurements based on the physical design, problematic areas can be pinpointed and dealt with early on, thus eliminating unnecessary prototype cycles.
Version 5 incorporates many improvements and enhancements to support even more accurate virtual prototyping for assembly and test. New categories for checking reference designators and components, plus a special summary of component and toeprint information round out the already robust component analysis function. In addition, Version 5 includes even more review categories to the extensive list of solder mask analysis features. Solder paste optimization is also enhanced with the creation of paste pads for special symbols.
