The fifth presentation of NEPCON/Microelectronics Shenzhen '99 proved to be another success, attracting 7,007 industry players from all over China and other countries.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Information Industry (MIl) and jointly organised by Reed Exhibition Companies and CCPIT Sub-Council, the four-day event occupied a gross exhibition space of 4,685sq.m and attracted some 175 exhibiting companies from China, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan region, UK and USA. The International exhibitor portfolio made up 70 percent, many of which introduced new products at the exhibition. For instance, two brand new modular mounters, YV100X (high precision and speed) and YV88X (ultra high precision and wide flexible) were exhibited by Yamaha; a wave soldering machine and reflow system by Sun East Electronic Equipment Co. Ltd; VSS-3B vision inspection machine by Samsung Aerospace Industrial Co.; room temperature vulcanisation (RTU) sealant by Dow Corning, and much more.
Specially designed for OEM and contract manufacturers, the newly created "Assembly Technology" profile made its debut at this year's event. Plenty Island Corporation (Taiwan) showcased their PC board separator and soldering, SMT post-level automatic assembly and other related products.
In anticipation of a larger event next year, NEPCON/Microelectronics Shenzhen 2000 will move to a new exhibition hall at the China Hi-Tech Fair Exhibition Centre from 29 August to 1 September 2000. WKK China Ltd, S & T Enterprises Ltd, Sun East Electronic Equipment Co. Ltd, United Asia Technologies Ltd, Zhong Yang Technics Int'l Co. Ltd and some bellwethers have already reserved space.
