NPL shows the way on lead-free soldering

Keywords: NPL, Lead-free soldering

Responding to the concerns from industry on issues surrounding the introduction of lead-free soldering technologies, the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) is running very popular one-day focused workshops.

The demand for the workshops comes from the environmental, legislative and technical considerations that are prompting the industry to examine alternatives to tin-lead solders. The latter are used in everything from niche products to consumer durables. The workshop, on Implementing lead-free electronics assembly, aims to put companies, especially the SMEs, in a better position to be able to respond quickly to any changes, with minimal downtime and disruption to production.
