Intelliplace (http://www.btinternet.com/intelliplace) has introduced a new automated placement machine ­ the Inoplacer.

Manufactured by Heeb of Germany, this compact machine is competitively priced and ideally suited for assembly of small and medium batch runs. Its versatility allows the Inoplacer to be used for a wide range of applications and an option for automatic PCB loading and unloading allows it to be integrated into a process line.

Component centering is made with a laser which is integrated into the assembly head. The head is ball guided to allow precise Z and theta axis movement. Featuring X, Y and Z motorised axis drives, the Inoplacer is capable of handling a wide variety of components from 0603 up to 33 × 33mm (PLCC 84, QFPs, BGAs) with a placement rate of 3,100 c.p.h. It has automatic vacuum sensors for component checks and a maximum assembly area of 524 × 400 mm.

As a stand alone machine, it can accommodate up to three feeder areas with a maximum 86 × 8mm feeders or combinations with 8, 12, 16, 24 mm feeders plus a matdx tray, allowing up to 96 component types, In-line, it can provide two feeder areas with a maximum 62 × 8mm feeders or combinations with 8, 12, 24mm feeder and linear feeder plus matrix tray. The machine is simple to program, operating within a windows environment.
