ABRAFATI 2011 issues call for papers

ABRAFATI (Brazilian Coatings Manufacturers Association) has issued a call for papers for its 12th International Coatings Congress, which will take place November 21-23, 2011 at the Transamerica Expo Center in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Technicians, professors, researchers and others interested in presenting papers at the 12th International Coatings Congress may now submit their abstracts to be evaluated by the scientific committee. This year’s congress will highlight recent research and innovations related to procedures, products, raw materials, applications, technologies and environmental care, among other themes. Anyone interested in presenting a lecture or participating in the Poster Session should submit an abstract of the presentation to the 12th Congress Committee by May 31, 2011 through the web site www.abrafati2011.com.br. The summary should be 20-30 lines long, in Portuguese, English or Spanish. It should include a title, the author’s name (and co-authors), the speaker’s name and the basic content summarized.

COMPOSITES 2011

Over 220 exhibitors and around 3,000 delegates visited the COMPOSITES 2011 Convention and Exhibition in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The exhibit hall was diverse with all segments of the industry represented; innovations were on display and discussed; education sessions with expert speakers were packed; universities and industry presented research; and networking with industry leaders took place throughout the entire event.

Eurocoat 2011: See you in Paris!

After a 2010 event in Genoa rich in exchanges, Eurocoat 2011 is making arrangements to meet you from September 27-29 for its first show ever in Paris, France at the Grande Halle de la Villette. Eurocoat is a trade event that groups an exhibition together with a scientific and technical congress, dedicated to the industries producing paints, varnishes, printing inks, glues and adhesives. A three-day showcase for more than 300 companies, the exhibition will present the leading producers and distributors of raw materials, the manufacturers of paint-making machines, the suppliers and manufacturers of equipment, as well as the producers of paint packaging. The show expects to welcome 6,500 visitors from countries that buy the largest number of coating products: China, India, Japan and the countries of Europe.

The 2011 International EUROCOAT Congress organised jointly with the AFTPVA (Association Française des Techniciens des peintures, Vernis, Encres d’Imprimerie, Colles et Adhésifs) will also be held at the Grande Halle de la Villette. The main topic will focus on the new plant-based formulations for developing paints, varnishes, printing inks, glues and adhesives in a sustainable manner. It will thus be an opportunity to take stock of the new technologies in the coating industry and changes in European legislation: NF environmental standards, REACH and the Ecolabels.

For 35 years now, Eurocoat has been a showcase for the know-how and innovations of companies that supply coatings, raw materials and equipment for use in the industries that produce paints, printing inks, varnishes, glues and adhesives. Eurocoat is held alternately in Spain, Italy and France, and is proud of its geographic location in the countries of Southern Europe, North Africa and the Gulf. In 2010, Eurocoat was held in Genoa and brought together 345 companies from 32 countries, filling 9,000 m² of exhibition space. The event attracted more than 6,000 visitors and united more than 60 nationalities.

TREX CEO to give keynote presentation at AMI’S WPC 2011 Conference

AMI are delighted to announce that Trex CEO Ronald Kaplan has already confirmed he will give a keynote presentation on the “Advancements in the WPC decking and railing market in North America” at the WPC Conference. The programme is currently being put together and will be released to the public in the next few weeks.

The event has been extremely successful since it started in 2002 and gathers every time over 250 participants from around the world at each event. The conference particularly differentiates itself from any others as it gathers the only truly international audience in this field. It also offers a unique practical demonstration at headline sponsors Battenfeld-Cincinnati Austria GmbH’s premises.

As per previous years, translation in German and Italian has been organised for the participants.
