Holliday Pigments’ invests in improved customer services

Article Type: Industry news From: Pigment & Resin Technology, Volume 37, Issue 4

Holliday Pigments has systematically enhanced its customer service levels by investment in new IT support and improved distribution.

Customers can now order online and track the “live” status of their delivery via a bespoke “My Account” function as featured on the company’s web site: www.holliday-pigments.com

“The main advantage of this new system is that it will provide a seamless transition between Hull and our manufacturing site in Comines, North France,” says Holliday Pigments’ Managing Director, Glyn Jagger.

“As well as the capability to view the order status online, we are also looking at allowing customers to have access to stock levels. That way they, and we, can better plan for exceptionally busy periods.”

Holliday Pigments’ sales team will also benefit from the improved IT capabilities, by tapping into a complete record of customer contacts online. This will enable the team to give a more personalised service and familiarise them with any particular developments on the job. The tracking system can also be accessed remotely via an internet browser, meaning that the team will be able to monitor progress from wherever they are in the world.

“The very nature of the job entails a lot of travelling and time away from the office,” says Glyn. “These improved facilities will enable us, as a team, to better meet the challenges of operating in a truly global and very competitive market place.”

As well as investing in IT support, the company has also taken the step of reviewing its current distribution arrangement.

Following a period of consultation, the company has announced that, as from March 3, 2008, it will employ Melrob Services Ltd to distribute its products in the UK and Ireland.

A fast growing force in the distribution of speciality chemicals, Melrob has many years experience in the coatings and plastics sectors and prides itself on the breadth and depth of staff expertise in these specialist fields.

“Holliday Pigments’ range of ultramarine and manganese violet pigments fits perfectly within our realm of expertise and we look forward to delivering a high level of service,” says Melrob’s Steve Tuffley. “It is fantastic for us to be working with an industry innovator and I’m pleased to be able to pass this privilege on to Melrob customers.”

The news comes hot on the heels of Holliday Pigment’s announcement that it has tripled capacity at its pink production plant in Comines and is part of an ongoing strategy to consolidate the company’s premier position in the Ultramarine market.

Holliday Pigments, best known for its signature Ultramarine Blue, offers the widest range of ultramarine and manganese violet pigments in the world today. Continuous research and development into the launch of high-performance versions of its stable products, keeps the company at the very forefront of innovation, most recently announcing the development of its improved acid resistance grades – Premier XAR for plastics and Grade 59 for wider coatings applications.
