Viscometer with temperature sensing capability
Keywords: Brookfield, Measurement, Temperature, Viscosity
Brookfield's newly enhanced digital viscometer model DV-I+ is thought to offer laboratory personnel a continuous sensing instrument with temperature and viscosity measurement capability.
The model DV-I+ now features an optional RTD temperature probe which plugs into the viscometer. Temperature readings are displayed in units of °C or °F.
Designed for single and multiple point viscosity measurement in QC and R&D applications, Brookfield's model DV-I+ has an easy to read LCD that displays viscosity in cP or mPas, percentage torque, speed (RPM) and spindle number. Viscosity measurement accuracy is þ1.0 per cent of range, repeatability is þ0.2 per cent. Accuracy of temperature measurement is þ0.5°C.
The enhanced DV-I+ can now be used to create temperature profiles for determining a material's viscosity variation due to a change in temperature conditions. An analogue signal output allows the user to create a permanent test record on a strip chart recorder.
