LabSystems has just launched a new LIMS (laboratory information management system) brochure, which is available free-of-charge for all scientists and IT specialists with an interest in laboratory automation (Plate 20).
The new eight-page piece provides a sound introduction to SampleManager, the world-leading enterprise LIMS from LabSystems, providing an in-depth overview of the features and specification of SampleManager, listing core functionality including sample login, sample tracking and reporting. Further enchanced functionality can be added to the LIMS in the form of modules for statistical quality control, batch management, stability studies and water management etc.

The new LIMS brochure explains how the SampleManager LIMS will fit into the global enterprise, integrating with both the desktop and with laboratory instrumentation, as well as certified interfaces with process modelling and optimisation systems (such as AspenTech's InfoPlus.21 ) and enterprise resource planning systems (such as SAP R/3).
With a user-friendly graphical user interface with Microsoft WindowsTM "look and feel", SampleManager is ideal for both large and small laboratories which operate within the constraints of a large corporation. SampleManager is flexible to suit the individual needs of these different environments it is configured to operate on a variety of operating systems (Windows NTv4.0, HP UX, OVMS, Digital UNIX and AIX UNIX), with a Windows client (NT, 95 or 98).
Detailed in the new brochure are also full training services, implementation and validation information, support, and future developments as well as the full regulatory compliance information required of both a laboratory and an IT environrnent.
