Brownell has introduced a compact dewpoint monitor which is reported to be easy to install and use (Plate 4). It is fully compatible with standard calibration and maintenance software used by most dewpoint instruments, giving users full control of the built-in processor, saving on downtime and maintenance.

Plate 4 The DM101 compact dewpoint monitor

With just a three-wire power and output connection and simple pneumatic piping the Brownell DM101 monitor is thought to be ideal for OEM and plant operators.

The monitor has a range of +15°C to 80°C and has as standard a 4-20mA output which can be polarized by the user to suit the application. It uses the proven Brownell Dewo-sensor technology with stable signal, sensitivity, and impressive contamination resistance numbering as its key characteristics. The Dewo sensor detector film layer is sensitive to the presence of water vapour, and varies the impedance according to the amount of water vapour present.

The requirement to measure, monitor and control dewpoint is of increasing importance throughout all industrial applications. Compressed air and gases are required with consistent quality, the moisture content being the most important parameter.

Universal mounting fixtures and optional housings ensure the Brownell unit as a practical solution to the demands for modern dewpoint instrumentation.
