The overwhelming majority of young people are aware of the nutritional benefits of milk, according to a new UK-wide study. The Dairy Council commissioned research among 1,001 12-20 year olds across Britain to assess their attitudes to milk.

The research found:

  • 85% of 12-20 year olds surveyed believe low fat milk is a healthy food.

  • 99% believe milk contains calcium.

  • 98% believe calcium is needed for strong teeth.
