Second Interactive Workshop Nutrition and Health Claims Europe
This one-day interactive workshop was directed at Legal Councils, Marketing and Sales, Production and R&D staff of European Food Industry and companies interested in importing food products into the European Union. It was held at Radisson SAS Hotel, Brussels, Belgium on 25 September 2007.
It included:

regulation on nutrition and health claims made on foods – updates and review of introduction;
- •
nutrient profiles, the concept and how it will be introduced;
- •
making health claims on foods;
- •
legal challenges surrounding the implementation of the regulation: an update;
- •
existing health claims move to european health claims; remaining national rules and transition elements; and
- •
opportunities and hurdles in developing foods with health claims – studies needed for substantiating health claims.
