Tackling Health Inequalities: Implementing the Choosing a Better Diet action plan takes an independent view of: the scale and nature of health inequality in the UK; the challenge of coordinated and effective communication; and the special cases of the elderly and ethnic minorities. This issue is of particular relevance with the publication last week of the Department of Health commissioned report by the Scientific Reference Group of Health Inequalities, chaired by Professor Sir Michael Marmot.
