Antibacterial powder coating

A new product known as BioCote is a powder coating which kills even "superbug" bacteria. It can be used on hospital equipment from beds to broom cupboard handles. Some 100,000 patients pick up bacteria in hospital and 5,000 die as a result. With some 50 per cent of all food poisoning cases originating in the home, the powder can be used on the surfaces of microwaves, fridges and ovens. The BBC programme Watchdog Healthcheck found that 31 per cent of the hard toys harboured dangerous pathogens and the powder can be used as a protection here, too. Available in epoxy, epoxy/polyester, polyurethane and polyethylene formulations, BioCote successfully combines all the traditional advantages of powder coating with an extremely effective antibacterial function. It is effective against all common bacterial strains and retains its effective protection for many years. For further technical information contact Paul Fieldhouse. Tel. 01624 825472.
