Organic longlife milk

Organic Matters have launched the first organic, UK produced, longlife milk with the production and marketing of a semi-skimmed UHT milk. The new milk is produced by a group of organic farmers from Shropshire who have formed Organic Matters to market a range of organic dairy products. The six farmer members have a total of 50 years of organic farming experience. The farm of one of the members is a Soil Association demonstration farm. Current estimates indicate that the market for organic dairy products in the UK is growing by over 30 per cent per annum. Until now the only longlife organic milk available in the UK has been imported. Semi-skimmed milk was chosen to suit the majority of consumers and the product is packed in Tetra Pak's TBA cartons with Recap opening. Filling and packing of the new Organic Matters longlife milk is being undertaken at the Lancashire Dairies production centre in Manchester.
