In the professional practice sector of the journal we capture, in a co-authored article, the key findings of the Leonardo ECUANET project. This outcome will provide the basis perspective for our future articles in this volume the thematic strand being the management of demand-led learning innovation and its diffusion in building organisational capacity and capability. The ECUANET Project has revealed that whilst the macro socio-economic infrastructures may have shortcomings in some EC Member States the grass roots transitions to systemic innovation in strategic demand-led organisation learning is now flourishing and rapidly moving ahead. We will be looking at these developments from all angles in the forthcoming Issues.
