Keywords Robots, Sankyo

For smaller sized, lower payload applications (3kg or less), a reduced cost, specially configured, lighter weight two-axis Cartesian coordinate robot (CCR) system, called the CCR-M Lite, is available from Sankyo Robotics.

The CCR-M Lite Series is available in two configurations and is sold as a complete turnkey system. Each CCR-M Lite system consists of:

  • CCR-M Lite robot arm in either 300mm x 300mm or 500mm x 500mm size.

  • Integrated track-type cabling factory installed.

  • SC3000 two-axis multitasking controller.

  • SSL/E Robot control software; Buzz application development systems for Windows 95/NT.

  • Three-meter robot to controller cable set.

  • Touch screen pendant with a ten-meter cable.

Additionally, Sankyo's CCR-M systems (perhaps the only CCRs in the industry) have received approval from Underwriters Laboratories under UL-1740 and also meet the Robotics Industries Association ANSI/RIA R15.06 Robot Safety Standard and the European (CE) Safety Standard for Industrial Robots EN 775/ISO 10218.

The CCR-M Lite is a highly industrial and reliable yet low-cost system that can be utilized for small parts assembly, dispensing, or material handling. Each of the linear axes uses cold-drawn steel frames and integrated outer guides, precision-ground ball screws, and large wattage brushless AC servo motors with absolute encoders. No homing is required! The high resolution encoders have 8,192 pulses per revolution.

The CCR-M Lite systems are controlled by the Sankyo SC3000 multitasking robot controller. A key feature of the system is the intelligent and user-friendly LCD touch screen pendant. Motion on all CCR-M series is fully programmable with flexible, digital I/O control. There are also continuous path, linear and circular motion for path-dependent applications, flexible digital I/O control with real-time sensor-guarded motions, easy-to-use palletizing commands, and an integrated communications protocol for application control and interfacing to host computers.
