Kaizen for Zambia

Article Type: News From: International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management, Volume 61, Issue 5

Zambia’s Commerce, Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Keith Mukata said reforms at policy level alone are not enough to develop the Zambian economy.

“We need a dedicated and committed workforce to implement measures to achieve developmental objectives … under-performance in any country poses a big challenge to economic development,” Mr Mukata said.

He spoke at a recent Kaizen National Conference, jointly organised by the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) and the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA adding that the transformation of Zambia from a lower-middle income country to a higher prosperous nation, as envisaged in the Vision 2030, requires all stakeholders to employ methods necessary to stimulate, improve, and sustain production and service delivery in the economy.
