The Iranian Interior minister, Mostafa Purmohammadi, recently suggested that the new administration of seeks a balanced development. “We should try to come to a regular and balanced development in the country while maintaining justice, this means that the productivity system should be reformed,” Purmohammadi stated.

The minister called for a proper use of resources and opportunities in the country. The minister lamented the great gap between Iran and some countries in terms of productivity and gross national product (GNP), saying that while Iran occupies 1.3 per cent of the world, its GNP is just 0.3 per cent of the world GNP.
