End of the peer
I have been involved in a peer review process today … looking at a department very much like the one I run but in another organisation. Of course, I learnt as much about my own department as the one I was reviewing. Every time an issue was raised, I was able to reflect on whether we did it as good as … better than … or just differently. It was very rewarding and I will definitely change some things over the next few weeks when I get back to the ranch and discuss some ideas with my team. I recommend the process … very similar to benchmarking but using just one (friendly) other organisation.
