Energetic performance

Cairn Energy PLC, an Edinburgh-based independent, public oil and gas exploration and production company, has invested in Geac Performance Management software to integrate its budgeting, forecasting and monthly financial reporting processes. Geac Performance Management will be used across the Cairn Energy organisation as a single management information system to increase access to critical information and to enhance decision-making and responsiveness.

Before selecting Geac Performance Management, end users at Cairn Energy relied on multiple, linked office documents. The company recognised it did not have the control and flexibility it needed due to the day-to-day maintenance issues that were made more complex by the different geographic locations – with finance managers, operational managers and budget holders throughout the UK, India and Bangladesh.

Cairn is aiming to enhance scenario modelling and manpower planning to get a better understanding of the impact of a range of strategies across the business.
