is the recipient of the Journal's Outstanding Paper Award for Excellence for her paper

"Multiple business ownership in the farm sector: differentiating monoactive, diversified and portfolio enterprises"

which appeared in International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour & Research, Vol. 7 No. 2, 2001

Professor Sara Carter is Deputy Head of the Department of Marketing at the University of Strathclyde. Prior to her appointment at Strathclyde in 1992, she taught at the University of Stirling for five years. She has undertaken a number of research studies investigating the small firms sector, most recently her studies focus on business growth. Her publications include two books: Women as Entrepreneurs (Academic Press, 1992) and Enterprise and Small Business - Principles, Practice and Policy (FT Prentice-Hall, 2000) co-edited with Professor Dylan Jones Evans.
