Fujitsu transforms learning and development

Article Type: Notes and news From: Industrial and Commercial Training, Volume 45, Issue 3

Fujitsu, one of the world’s leading providers of information-technology solutions, is seeking to align all HR activity to business goals and objectives.

“Investing in our people is key to the success of our business,” said Brenton Clark, head of organization capability development at Fujitsu. “We are driving business performance by empowering our people.”

Led by HR director Ella Bennett, the HR function is delivering this vision by transforming the delivery of learning and development.

“An engaged workforce is our most important asset,” commented Ella Bennett “Ensuring our people have the skills they need to succeed, and the HR support required to consistently perform at the highest level, we are providing the business with the principal asset it needs for growth.”

Fujitsu recently won a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development award for constructing HR capability. The team is building on this success through workforce development, with the help of training provider QA.

Jamie Thomas, account director at QA, said: “Fujitsu is transforming its learning provision into a service that is strategically aligned to business goals. It is therefore focused on delivering the development its people need to ensure the organization is successful.”

QA will supplement internal training and oversee all of Fujitsu’s externally sourced training.
