Morgan Est gears up for growth
Article Type: Notes and news From: Industrial and Commercial Training, Volume 40, Issue 5
A UK provider of utilities, civil-engineering and infrastructure services across the public and private sectors is currently undertaking a business-improvement initiative while re-implementing its enterprise-wide system, Coins.
Coins is the construction-industry software adopted by Morgan Est to manage its finance and procurement transactions. More than 500 Morgan Est staff at over 30 UK locations use the software.
The business-improvement and re-implementation initiative aims to accommodate Morgan Est’s rapid growth and to provide a strong platform for future growth and increasing client and industry demands.
The company will deliver the training in four mobile classrooms over a four-week period. Each will have access to the Morgan Est network using high-speed downlink packet-access connections that automatically switch between the O2 and Vodafone networks for increased resilience.
Phil Gray, project director for PC Coaching, which runs the mobile-training units, said: “The construction industry was one of the first to realize the advantages of using mobile classrooms to deploy training.”
Paul Underwood, Morgan Est business-systems director, commented: “The combined flexibility of the mobile-training environment, the latest technology and a mixture of training initiatives has meant that we are able to maximize the benefits from the business-improvement and re-implementation initiative.”
