Liverpool police get to grips with foreign languages

Merseyside Police is offering officers the chance to learn a foreign language in advance of Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture in 2008. The optional courses are likely to be run as short, intensive classes in conversational French, German, Spanish and Italian, at Liverpool John Moores University. The aim is to make the city more welcoming to foreign tourists.
