Future of farming “depends on training”

The future of European agriculture is increasingly dependent on training, according to a working document considered by European farm ministers. The document highlights the importance of training young farmers in the technical, economic and environmental aspects of farming, as well as in animal welfare. The document urges ministers to develop more lifelong learning for farmers, and to ensure that agricultural training and research are in step with economic and social reality.
