Teaching materials on the environment

The European Commission is developing a range of books and audiovisual resources as part of its campaign to involve young people in care for the environment. A new environment Web site targets young people aged up to 18. It focuses on the themes of air, water, waste and nature and includes interactive pages enabling young people to explore specific problems such as the greenhouse effect, endangered animals and marine pollution. Group activities are proposed around each theme. A test section enables young people to check their knowledge of environmental affairs through a series of multiple-choice questions and word games.
