Abstract

Organic farming is not a new innovation. In many respects it represents a return to the rotational cropping and self‐sufficient natural fertilising regimes of previous generations. However, there have been many developments in the fields of biological control, crop breeding and analytical technique, as well as concern for the environment and food safety, which bring organic farming back into the limelight.
