Durr aims to make industry cleaner and greener

Abstract

Compared to other Western countries, notably Germany and the USA, the UK has been slow to introduce legislation to protect the environment. But, this is going to change with the introduction of the Environment Protection Act (EPA), which soon will start to significantly affect how industry operates many of its manufacturing processes. It will mean the Automotive and Metal Finishing industries having to spend £300–500 million per annum on environmental products. Typically, this will add £1–2 million to the average cost of a new paint plant.
