Abstract

In these yet again troubled economic times it is always welcome to see a growth area for the coatings manufacturers. According to IAL Consultants Ltd the consumption of polymeric sealants in the UK, West Germany and France will exceed 200,000 tonnes by 1994. This represents an aggregate growth of 2.7% p.a. from the consumption of some 175,000 tonnes in 1989. However, it is likely that the consumption in 1994 will significantly exceed 200,000 tonnes as a result of the re‐unification of East and West Germany.
