Abstract

It is with great regret that we report the death of Herbert Walter John Chatfield (PhD., C.Chem., F.R.S.C., C.Eng., F.I.‐Chem.E., F.T.S.C., F.P.R.I., F.I.A.L.) founder and managing director of The Chatfield Applied Research Laboratories Ltd. of Croydon, Surrey. He died after a short, un‐expected illness on 6th March, 1984, aged 73.
