Global Enterprise: Conoco's Excellent Russian Adventure

Archie W. Dunham (Archie W. Dunham, president and CEO of Conoco since January of this year, was directly involved in the company's Russian operations in his previous position as executive vice president in charge of exploration and production. Conoco (a subsidiary of Du Pont) was an early investor in the Soviet Union under perestroika, and owns half of a joint venture company producing a major new Russian oilfield. The Ardalin field is some 1,000 miles northeast of Moscow in what is known as the Timan Pechora Region, a particularly oil‐ and natural gas‐rich section of Russia)
